Mongols and Turks are different ethnic races. There is a tendency to mix them up. In Russia, Mongols and Tatars refers to same ethnic group although in reality they are different despite centuries of inter mixing. Tatars/Volga Bolgars look completely Caucasian no different than slavic population surrounding them. Mongols still retain their mongoloid features.
