This particular minister Weerawansa is well know to put his foot in his mouth..

The GOI have not been supporting any separatist movement in the island since the mid 80's pre IPKF and it's debacle

Inspite of separatist and extremist political forces in Tamil Nadu.. Delhi and Colombo relations both diplomatic and defense relations have been cordial even through few hiccups like the UNHRC vote against Colombo to pacify UPA coalition politics in TN

During the final humanitarian operation against the LTTE terrorists India did support SL armed forces both in intelligence/training and non lethal weaponry

But the LTTE was the brain child of Indira Ghandi and her doctrine to destabilize SL..

GOI still tries to meddle in the internal affairs of SL, Despite the bitter lessons of the past

GOI needs to differentiate it's national foreign policy with internal politics

Finally geo politics are very different now to the late 70's or early 80's.. When cross border terrorism was easy thing to do

That inherently presumes that SLA defeated LTTE single handed which is a blatant lie !
