The route of the Orange Line Metro train can make it a failure...
For a metro train to succeed with high utility and high traffic.

It need to pass through.
- Big colleges and schools.
- Universities and offices, corporate and multi nationals companies, govt. offices.
- Shopping areas, shopping plazas, but the traffic here is not on a daily basis unlike in offices.
-Big hospitals, govt. and private.

This routes doesn't look very viable, as the start at Dera Gujjran and many areas are very low income areas, decrepit poor housing...seems it was a political strategy to get more votes from the low income areas...here people runs small shops, small vendors and all that, they don't travel to the city center or Ali Town or Chaubargi/GPO, UET etc. Hope though it will succeed.

Actually this route was intentional, even here in US, most subways pass through low income areas because those are the people that need it most. People in wealthy areas already have cars and they don't need metro.

Imran khan inaugurated BRT in Peshawar

But He could not find enough time to open the Lahore metro train for the public which was ready before his coming into office. What a pity for the people who did not vote for his party.
Umm, it's was NOT completed. And also Peshawar BRT project always got the first priority because it's was PTIs project. I am not defending anybody here.

Whats the use of a train, when you aren't even going to travel on it, the places where they built it are terrible and the definition of slum but it was a clever move to showcase their projects to the poor who aren't even going to use such "world class" facilities while at the same time not managing to afford bread.

Lahore Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) may start operating on October 25 and before its commercial launch, created around 2,000 jobs, said Punjab Mass Transit Authority (PMTA) General Manager Syed Uzair Shah.
