HTC M9 plus comes with Gorilla glass plus I put additional bit expensive another layer of screen protection so from my end no worries since I am not slippery handed person.

You can go for Samsung j7. It has better specs than the s4, but lacks gorilla glass.

Specs to look for in a general sense

Screen- 1080 p, at least 720p. Should have high brightness to be usable even in sunlight.

Fast response times.

Battery over 2500 mAh

Latest OS.

Reasonable camera.

My s4 has bwen working flawlessly for 4+ years.

S3 was real bad though.
