I would recommend the Samsung A5 (2016-2017) or The Iphone SE which I know is not in your list but you will be able to get it in that price range.

dont buy htc crap weak screen and is a son of b itch to fix. blackberry crap batteries they mess up and lose charge.

buy samsung s4 and get gorilla screen protector mine lasted to this day.

You can go for Samsung j7. It has better specs than the s4, but lacks gorilla glass.

Specs to look for in a general sense

Screen- 1080 p, at least 720p. Should have high brightness to be usable even in sunlight.

Fast response times.

Battery over 2500 mAh

Latest OS.

Reasonable camera.

for me samsung s4 is final i had enuf of these ripping off bas trds. why cant they include emf protection case etc why did these cheap bas rds use cheap sound chips, why they not include am fm radio. i would really appriciate it if they designed the phones with two manual buttons to turn off camera and mic for privacy protection.
iphone and htc you have to open fone apart to change battery.
probably once in my lifetime i may have seen a product that was made to last and with honest engineering and flexiblility.
