President inaugurates KPT Interchange Flyover
KARACHI, Nov 18 (APP): President Gen. Pervez Musharraf here on
Sunday performed the inauguration of Karachi Port Trust (KPT)
Interchange Flyover at Qayyumabad-Korangi Road.
He performed the unveiling of the plaque and also offered `Dua'
on the occasion.
Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad Khan, Chief Minister, Dr.
Arbab Ghulam Rahim and Senator Babar Khan Ghauri were also present
on the occasion.
The President was briefed about the salient features of the
project.
This three- tier interchange project sponsored and executed by KPT
as per directive of President General Pervez Musharraf under the
Tameer-i-Karachi Programme is a gift to Karachi city.
The total cost of the project was stated to be Rs 800 million and
it was completed within the stipulated time.
Its three- tier intersections will facilitate the overgrowing
traffic in the area without any interruption and signal- free movement.
It is designed on international standard to cater for the traffic
growth over the next 25 years.
