The Chosun Ilbo (English Edition): Daily News from Korea - Korea Now Keen to Jump on TPP Bandwagon

The government is facing a barrage of criticism after Korea was left out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a broad free trade deal covering 12 Pacific Rim nations concluded Monday.

Critics say Korea cannot afford to ignore the world's largest trading bloc led by the U.S. and Japan, which are also central players in the security and economic alliance in Northeast Asia.

The government says it is now ready to join the controversial trade pact despite earlier foot-dragging that meant it was left out of the main negotiations. Finance Minister Choi Kyung-hwan on Tuesday said he will consider Korea's participation in the TPP in "any form."

Count Cambodia and Lao as countries want to join tpp. Almost all Asia countries want join tpp, this will be fatal blow to China economic amid its already decline in gdp growth rate. I cant wait to see the Chinese clowns here entertain me with new tricks.

You obviously know shit at all about economics. Projections are saying China's GDP will drop by .1% over 10-15 years if they don't sign any additional FTAs with current TPP members.

This is a disaster for Asian countries who will be losing their sovereignty to Washington. Korea is strong enough to stand on her own though.

God, say it right at least. Its ILBO-NIM! My dear and precious Kankukojin tomodachi! ;)

So tell me, you're also in USA? ;)

Pffffffffftttttttttt, its ILBON-NOM which means Japanese b*stard. Wrong pronunciations of my people's language causes confused looks. You should stick to teaching foreigners the Japanese language, not the language you're pretending to be good at. Me saying only Ilbon was intentional, anyways. I don't say ethnic insults like b*stards to anybody unless there are insults are being directed at Koreans.

As for my location, I'd rather give it to a drug cartel death squad. If I'm not saying slurs to you, it doesn't mean your my new friend. Try to understand that, Ilbon. Its probably difficult to learn, but I think you will be okay. :P

LOL! Oh my , do i see a change in tone with you? It seems that for once you're not that irritated with me, perhaps it has something to do with the gradual softening of relations between the great people of Korea and the humble people of Japan?

Thank you, tho, for your correction. I've hung around with Koreans plenty enough to know some basic words and phrases to get through. Take my interest to learn your language as a compliment , not an insult. Afterall, with everyone dancing to Korean pop and watching all these Korean drama, can't hurt to know what they're talking about, right? LOL.

I hope you're having a good Wednesday, Korean buddy. Hope one day you will open up and warmen to me.

I wait. I can wait. ;)

Don't wait to the point where you get tired of waiting and start taking anti-depressants like Xanax. If a Korean like me wants to make peace, they wouldn't waste time in doing so. If we haven't done it yet, then we have already decided for the foreseeable future. Lets see who can hold their breath the longest.

Japan might have 1 or 2 months of cordial relations with SK before the annual monsoon. But, permanently? I have better expectations of an asteroid hitting this planet. Seoul will always use those Yasukuni visits or a moron's mouth like Taro Aso's against Tokyo. It doesn't make a difference to my people how to nitpick at Japanese nerves. The silly belief that Seoul will just abandon it's core political values just because Tokyo says its the 21st century and SK should help Japan with their problems due to this reason are pure delusions. Whats next? BOJ suddenly justifying that sinking Japan into another 30 or 40 percent of debt is perfectly reasonable? Japanese like to use dirty politics against others, but acts shocked when they suffer the same treatment.

Yes, well, i'm glad things are moving along positively with Korea and Japan. I've always been a proponent of stronger ties between Koreans and Japanese, irrespective of historical grievances. Anyways, thanks for the long and descriptive post, buddy.

Peace.
