Khandu wants 100% local reservation in Arunachal Scouts regiment

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu has asked the Indian Army to keep cent per cent reservation for indigenous youths for recruitment into the proposed Arunachal Scouts regiment.
The chief minister's request came during a meeting with GOC 56 Infantry Division Maj General RN Singh, who called on him here yesterday, official sources informed.

Advocating for 100 per cent reservation, Khandu suggested to the Army that the recruitment rallies for Arunachal Scouts be conducted in phased manner to give enough time for the youths from all over the state to participate.

He said that for youths of high altitude areas the recruitment may be conducted in places of high altitude so that they could give their best as they would be acclimatised to that climate. Similarly, he suggested conduct of recruitment camps in the plains for youths of the plain areas. :agree::agree:

Seeking the support of Army, Khandu also requested the visiting official to utilise the Army's funds for repair and maintenance of strategic porter tracks, foot suspension bridges and log bridges in the border area which are used both by the army as well as local people.

The helipads and other infrastructure built by the Army should also be allowed to be used by the civilians, Khandu suggested.

The GOC appreciated the advices and assured active consideration to the suggestions. He, however, urged the Chief Minister to expedite the land acquisition process for two more divisions of the Army in the state, sources added. :yahoo:

We should accept his demands because:

1. The local people are best suitable for that weather, altitude.

2. The Local people knows the terrain and areas.

3. They are very patriotic and want to serve the nation we should not demoralize them.

4. We should also build special forces from local people similar to Tibetans and Han chinese for behind enemy lines operations.

.
100 % not acceptable..we need army which can excel in any area....current system is best in which every one is rotated in various commands..however special forces can have local people as they know the place best..
