Khalid Malik bids FM 89 goodbye and makes all his fans cry a little!
While our mornings will never be the same again without his voice, his speech was very heartfelt and emotional

It's a sad day for all those who started their day with good music and Khalid Malik by tuning into FM 89 every morning. After years of being our early morning companion, he has finally said goodbye to his much-loved Radio show as he felt it was time to discover new horizons.
The decision hasn't been easy for him and that could be heard and felt in his emotional farewell speech on FM 89. One could tell from his tone that he's fighting hard to hold back his tears but the quiver in his voice just gives it away.
While our mornings will never be the same again without his energetic voice to wake us up, his speech was very heartfelt and honest as he spoke to each and every fan of his as they were sitting in front of him.
Malik said,
“I often get asked, how do you stay so chirpy and get up so early for however many years and the honest answer is YOU. You make my experience here enjoyable and it feels sometimes that you and I have made this show happen. And I feel like I’ve grown up with you as you have, too. And as you know, as you grow, you feel the need to explore new horizons because that is a part of growing up. And, at times, you need to make some tough decisions.”

Knowing the intensity of his fame Malik even suggested that perhaps someday he would write a book and answer everyone’s questions but at the same time he also revealed that he was embarking on something new which will be revealed very soon.
While we can’t wait to find out what new venture he is getting into, one thing which we really liked was how Malik gave advices to everyone from the men to the women and even young girls,
“To the girls who are in colleges, universities and in schools, you are beautiful, just the way you are. You don’t need to be anywhere for anybody"
Students who would often request him to pray for their exams were also told,
"To students who message me on a daily basis, that exam that is around the corner is minute in the scheme of things. Life would throw many exams at you. Be prepared for those and stand firm and ground to everyone, don’t take yourselves so seriously.”
The reason why Khalid Malik managed to touch so many lives was because he spoke from the heart and for the heart. There was nothing pretentious about him. He was a very open and an excellent wake-up call who with his chirpy voice and zeal for life would even make you want to tackle the day with energy and positive vibes.
While we will greatly miss hearing him on FM 89 we at HIP would like to wish Khalid Malik all the very best in his future endeavours!
