Kashmiris have realized they will not be able tp cede away from India: Army chief

‘Some checks and curbs’ on internet, social media must’

BK News Desk/Srinagar
January 18, 2018

Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Wednesday said the people of Kashmir “in general are getting tired of terrorism” as “it has not given them what they desired for.”
“You cannot cede away from India. People have realised they won't be able to do that. Some have got radicalised… I feel most of them want to join the mainstream,” General Rawat was quoted as saying by The Indian Express at an event in New Delhi.
He added that the “deradicalisation campaign” needs to continue. “If that continues, we will soon be able to put an end to terrorism in Kashmir.”
Gen Rawat recently called for exercising “some control” over mosques and madrassas in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming they were “radicalizing” the youth.
He also berated government-run schools in Kashmir for imparting “disinformation” and “wrong” education to students, citing the example of “two maps” being taught in schools.
There is a need to put some checks and curbs on internet as well as social media so that “terrorism can be dealt with,” Gen Rawat said.
Speaking at an event in New Delhi, Gen Rawat acknowledged that in a “democratic country people would not like it, but they have to take a call on whether they want a safe and secure environment and whether they were willing to accept curbs temporarily so terrorism can be dealt with,” according to The Indian Express.
He said threat of nuclear and chemical weapons falling into the hands of “terrorists could spell disaster for humanity.”
“Terrorists are using systems which are highly technology enabled and transcending international borders. We need to disrupt terrorists and their sponsors. We need to identify nations who are sponsors,” he said.
Without naming Pakistan which India accuses of supporting militant groups in Jammu and Kashmir, he said: “Nation states that support terror to achieve their ends need to be tackled first.
“Terrorism is here to stay, unless the entire international community joins hands, comes together and fights this menace. Only then we can see peace… Terrorism cannot be a new form of warfare.
“This is what nations believe, this is going to be a new form of warfare. It has been seen that nations which spread terrorism invariably become victims of terrorist activities. If they want a safe home, it is better to stop this and let the global community work together.”

Well they should have realized that long ago . After all how are they going to handle 180000 Indian soldiers . Everything in Kashmir is controlled by New Delhi including the water and electricity.

.
The Kashmiris have realised that they can make Indian Army chief to make statements to deny the ground reality.

This recognition by the Indian chief is one great accomplishment by the Kashmiris!

After 70 years and 700.000 occupational forces in the Valley of Sorrows... this statement is just a double speak.

They will keep demanding and certainly shall get their Birth Right i.e. Freedom!!!

Brutality and murder/oppression needs to end....

Solution to Kashmir is through Peaceful conduct... let Kashmiris decide!!!!!!

Wrong only 30000 Indian army soldiers do COIN operation RR and 50000 BSF and Indian army soldiers guard borders in Kashmir. There are 70000 J&K Police plus 20,000 CRPF troops.
So only 100000 India paramilitary and military soldiers . There are also 3 corps size formations in J&K but they don't do much.

Solution to Kashmir is through Peaceful conduct... let Kashmiris decide!!!!!!

There will never be any plebicite in Kashmir . New Delhi has made that clear in UNCERTAIN TERMS
