Very interesting documentry of Karachi Violence. It reminds me of Bombay 15-20 years back. But this is too too much. What the hell are Politicians doing? Letting their city become Wild Wild West of late 19th century?

Thanks for your concern about our city. But there is already an operation against criminals in Karachi and situation has improved in KArachi if we compare it to PP rule.

Great to know that. End of the day its common hardworking man who suffers directly or indirectly.
What exactly is the problem of karachi by da way? Where has it all started? Since PML-N is in rule, what happened to Uzair Baloch once PPP was ousted? Also MQM has been historic rulers of Karachi city. What is their situation now?

Well if we compare it to PP rule, then yes there is improvement. Musharraf rule was the best for Karachi. Leaving one or two incidents, city was mostly peaceful. PPP rule proved to be a horrible dream for Karachi. Uzair baloch is still at large and is busy in fighting with another rival criminal group. The difference is that they are now more limited to liyari. During PPP rule they were busy in extortion from all over Karachi. Even areas like Clifton and PECHS. MQM is still powerful and has won most seats from karachi in the last elections. The problem of Karachi is that too many criminals made it their home. Criminals and terrorists from all over Pakistan flocked to Karachi and then started their activities in the city. Due to non serious behavior of PPP govt, they emboldened and even started attacking police and rangers. However there is improvement in the situation in PML(N) tenure but still a lot of is to be done in this city.

how many no go areas have been cleared in 3 and a half months of this so called operation?

the documentary also shows how the no go areas are becoming hub of criminals gangs

So what exactly do u think PML-N has done differently? In terms of increasing Police force or something? What exactly as led to this fall in crime?

I already said a lot of things are needed to be done. Particularly in Liyari.

situation of karachi has not improved it has gone worse, when rangers op started there were 100 killings in september which rouse to 200 in november

its because no go areas have not been eliminated

only the criminals have escaped and thats why there was temperory decline in crime rate but, the street crimes have only increased

the police itself is involved in crimes and so is rangers, the things can't improve if police and rangers are not cleaned of criminal mafias

Frankly, people living in Karachi have not seen any reduction in crime. We end up wondering how bad the situation really was that even after all this cleanup, there's been virtually no drop in crime.
