Having already ordered Mi-28NE attack helicopters, Algeria might be interested in the naval variant of the Ka-52. Source: Russian Helicopters
Russian Helicopters subsidiary Kamov will demonstrate its Ka-52 Alligator attack helicopters later this year, the Russian news agency TASS reported on 23 June.
Citing Kamov's annual report, TASS reported that the company was awarded a RUB90 million (USD1.7 million) contract on 8 December 2014 to "provide services for the preparation and organisation" of the demonstration of the Ka-52 for a potential buyer in Algeria in July-August.
The Ka-52 is currently being produced for the Russian Armed Forces.
Sergei Kornev, the head of the air force department at Russia's Rosoboronexport state arms export agency, said during the Paris Air Show that at least one foreign country has ordered the Ka-52. "We have the Ka-52 in its export model and we have contracts for it," the Sputnik news service quoted him as saying.
The customer was not identified, but Russian officials have said in the past that Azerbaijan had expressed interest in the helicopter.
