Pune-based Kalyani Group finally has got Central government clearance to test its indigenous developed Bharat-52 and Garuda-105 artillery systems. Trails of this guns developed by Kalyani Group will be carried out in next few months in India and Indian Army also has been invited as an observer for trails of the gun.

Kalyani Group developed “Bharat-52″ is a long-range 155mm/52 caliber gun, which is capable of hitting targets in the range exceeding 40km and is an all- weather system with superior all-terrain mobility.and utilizes self-propelling capability and automatic laying mode. Bharat-52 can move at 25 km an hour on its own and needs a team of six crew members to deploy the system within one minute during day time and 1.5 minutes during night time.

Bharat-52 was first displayed by Kalyani Group at Defexpo in 2012 since then Kalyani Group had asked Ministry of Defence to allow to use its facilities to test the guns. Kalyani Group also had asked Ministry of Defence to supply ammunitions for the guns which as per existing Indian laws can only be sourced from Government of India.

Kalyani Group will also be testing ultra-light gun system placed on light vehicles and nonstandard platforms dubbed “Garuda-105″ artillery systems which will be a force multiplier for the forward forces and can also be mounted on aircrafts ,coastal and river patrol watercraft as per Company website .

Garuda can be a versatile artillery system. Highly mobile & easily transportable through air, this system can become a game changer in most terrains.

Kalyani Group!! Sheeesh! That's too effeminate-sounding a name for a company producing manly artillery systems!! :lol:

@Water Car Engineer

I thought Garuda 105 will use this vehicle..

That Humvee was used as a placeholder for the show. It'll use the TATA truck. And I agree, the compact humvee, or any other humvee type would've been better.

^^ Just shows how much can Indian armed forces benefit if Private sector gets involved. DPSUs will have to do much better than they are doing right now. Within 4-5 years, Bahrat-52 is ready for testing. I am sure if private players are involved, Arjun-3 will be kick@ss..

They all seem to be posturing, maneuvering themselves into a good position. They'll be dominating the Indian defence sector within 20 years.

Many people look at the foreign companies that are looking at Indian defence money, but not the huge Indian private players.
