K-15 test off Andhra coast next month From a submarine

There has to be successive tests to ensure safety for the sub, after all we got only one SSBN. :D

This is Arihant. If DRDO is launching the missiles from submarine, who r we to ask the question? There is only one submarine capable of handling K-15, INS Arihant. Arihant reactor went critical months ago. INS Chakra does not have vertical tube. ................. So all the best to DRDO for dual salvo launch of the K-15.

This is going to be a very important milestone for India. Hope Pakistan has at-least started the R&D work for such a platform.

What pakistan must concentarte on is not sea-launch ballistic missiles but some system
that could possibly intercept a K-15 coming to attack, say karachi or gwadar.pakistan
will bankrupt itself trying to match India bullet-to-bullet.

That's the plan ;)

Bankrupt karr hee na dey! Yaad seyy!! :pop:

Chakra-II does not have the equipment to carry, let alone launch, a 10-meter long ballistic missile.

What u mean? Its a nuk sub. Akula class. Moreover its armed with 300km Klub missiles. The international treaties prevent us from carrying nuclear missiles from that sub.
The least we can do is TEST from it.

No, Akula-II can-not carry and fire a ballistic missile. Where does it fire them from? Its
launch tubes can only hold the BrahMos or Klub-type missiles who are only 8-8.5m long, but K-15 is
all of 10 meters and requires special cold-launch properties for a successful launch.
