Just watching a show on tv Army excecrice on siking a frigate

Just watching a very interesting show

They are showing a Destroyer - from 70's being prepared for battle vs modern units for sinking origioally I thought they said a frigate but the show is about a old destroyer on discovery channel


There are 3-4 teams trying to sink that destroyer /ship

A) Hornets 3 Airforce
B) Nuclear submarine (Mk 48 torpedo will be used)
C) Navy
D) Command Unit
F) Helo form Ships ....


The navy ship will use sparrow missiles , and cannons and missiles ....

Lets see what happens

One of the navy boat has a very impressive anti missile gun... launches 4000 rounds / min or something like that
All teams will be trying to land the killer blow on the old ship

WOW...MK 48 they showed a clip of what that can do in previous excersice its like a smurai sword , it splits the whole damn ship in half one strike ... very impressive - would be interesting to see which is the most capable navy team

Also somthing called CWIZ (Planx) will be used anti missile ... ship defece

The navy team has 2 destroyers , and 4 frigates in action

After that it will be Nuclear sub's turn and some where in between the

3 fighter jets will take a crack

LOL ... THE SPARROW missile got stuck .... .....embarassing caught on tv ...5 min lost in replacement

oh wait second one goes very fast went to aim at the location were the missile silos are saved ... hmmm interesting strategy ... very swift second launch ...

The ship took the missile ...

Now the cannons 52mm

All the destroyers/frigate team use cannon but not a fatal shot

Its 2 destroyers + 4 frigates vs 1 decomissioned ship ... the 1 ship is taking up damage bravely

Now , CWIZ is tested , the weapon is not used to targeting boats can't lock into the destroyer , as its meant for anti missile

So the team switches to manual override ....

Kinda still not good enough.... as the old destroyer just takes the damage -

But if there were sailors on a real boat the CWIZ would have caused some major casulaties ... no doubt

The CWIZ had to be reloaded manually a dude was brining in cases ... hmm

CWIZ is a very interesting weapon - could be useful on Pakistan Navy boats , the turkish showed a similar gun in past its very agile and good for defence for missiles

Now the gun being used is 76 mm gun .... that gun was stripped from the old shipt its huge ...

The sailors are very .. supersticious they don't want to use that gun since it was from the boat that is about to be sunk but they still use it ...

The 76 mm is good damage looks like the rear is sinking ...now .. its tiping the weapons aim is done on the rear of the boat ...

Now
The 3 fighter planes have the ok to go ahead ...
they are doing their mid air refueling .. wasting time ...

Lets see what they launch

.....The planes try 1-2 times with their gatling guns *dog fight guns on boat ... and only one gets a shot ...too bad they did not launch any missile ... on the boat that is almost doing a stright up titanic scene...

The navy' 76mm cannon were enough to sink the 70's destroyer

Nuclear sub did not even had to launch its devestating torpedo ...

The big cannon did the most damage the smaller cannons on the boat did some damage which would have caused personnal damage but wow that 76mm cannon on the ship was just powerful , old fashioned...

Luckily ... they showed the MK 48 CLIP... and that is like a blast just under the middle of boat and the boat just immediately snaps in two ... from middle very powerful weapon time to see who has this torpedo

The good news is

Pakistani Frigates all have the 76mm calibre

Also the US frigate we will get will also have ability to use the MK37 Torpedos on the US frigate that we will get in 2010

Pakistan should look into getting these torpedos , these are impressive

Only used by USA/Canada/Dutch

I was disappointed as planes were not useful , they barely had 2-5 second to launch their gun ammunition (no missiles) before they had to do 6 G lifts aftter they got into the ship's range after they did a vertical nose dive
