It is not about being good candidate because all PTI structure will have to look after Punjab. PTI has just gained ground they have to concentrate on Punjab

It's going to be disastrous for Pakistan's economy if the Punjab government is different from Federal government.

1: PMLN gets minimum of 10 officers inducted every year in CSS and PMS. In support of my argument I'll quote what Raja Zafar ul Haq said a few months ago during Rajput conference "give me 50 boys or girls every year for CSS and PMS, so whichever department we (Rajputs) go, we have our own people to do it" so imagine those who got inducted in the 1990s by PMLN are Secretaries and Joint Secretaries now.

2: There are things that the provincial governments can blame on the Federal government.

I have personally known of incidences where during Zardari's time local leaders of PMLN were tasked to intensify loadshedding in areas of Punjab (especially industrial) through sabotage of electrical transmission system and delay in maintenance (through PMLN inducted officers) and than blaming the loadshedding on Federal government.
This worked so well that in Faisalabad PMLN clean sweeped the 2013 elections but cost Pakistan economy dearly. (PPP does similar tactics when they're governing Sindh and someone else is governing Federal.) Now we know that more than 90% industry is located in these two provinces.

3: So, it's very important that the same party forms government in National as well as provinces especially these two provinces if we want to see better days for the economy.

4: Now, since last elections, the independent candidates are given a stipulated time to either join a party and if they fail to do so they will remain independent for the whole term of the assembly.
In Punjab, since both major parties are running almost equal, the independents won't join any of these and the independent candidates are hence in a sweet spot. However, whichever of the two parties gives them a better package will get their support and form government. But if six months later, the opposition comes with a better package a "Tehreek e adam aitemad" will be presented and the opposition will form government.

So, my suggestion is that either PTI should go for both Punjab and Federal government or leave both and sit in opposition at both places in the best interest of the country.

5: If however, PTI decides to go for Punjab government, than they should try to merge into their party as many independent candidates as they can. Mere one time support will not be enough as PMLN can later on buy their support during Tehreek e adam aitemad.

6: Hamza Shahbaz's analogy of PTI's 2013 situation in KPK to PMLN's present situation is flawed because in 2013 pti won just 35/99 seats in KPK and needed 50 for forming government. Maulana Fazal ur Rehman and Nawaz Shareef were interested in forming government in KPK in 2013 in alliance with ANP and others. However, when Nawaz Shareef realized that the province has too many problems especially terrorism the PMLN turned on her heels as they thought "KPK is a difficult province to govern, let PTI rule. They were certainly in a sure state of mind that Imran Khan k ghubaray say hawa nikal jaye gi. They never in their dreams would have thought that PTI will not only govern the province but also perform so well as to come back with a majority which would rule out coalition in KPK.

So, Nawaz didn't respect the mandate of PTI in KPK during 2013 elections, he just took the safe route and denied to govern a difficult province (izzat bachany k liye) in 2013. He kept waiting k Imran Khan deliver nahin kr paaye ga KPK main or PTI khatam hojaye gi. He's still waiting in Adiala.

That assumes all Punjabis share the same politics, don't be ridiculous.

Besides, give it a decade or two after the split, and both sides will develop their own distinct political and social cultures.

We need Q to agree to a coalition with PTI. I’m sure they wouldn’t do it for free. It will cost PTI. It’s a good trade-off.
