JUST IN: Official Punjab assembly results diminish PML(N) lead over PTI

Official results from Election Commission Website for Punjab province

PML(N)---127 seats.
PTI----122 seats.

PP-01's result is outstanding and PTI is leading this seat by more than 10,000 votes with more than 95% votes in

FINAL RESULTS IN PUNJAB:

PML(N): 127 seats
PTI: 123 seats

This means that PTI is only 4 seats short of PML(N). So what "mandate" is PML(N) talking about? PTI and PML(N) have won a similar number of seats across Punjab. The situation is no way near the same situation as KPK in 2013. Back then, PTI had a clear lead over everyone else and people of KPK clearly gave their mandate to PTI across province (Just like today at Federal level). Imagine if PTI only had 4 more seats than PML(N) nationwide today. You think PML(N) would not have formed an alliance with MQM/ANP etc to make the government? OFFCOURSE they would have since the difference would have been pretty much non-existent and both parties would have a similar mandate.

The situation is the same for PTI now. PTI should form the government in Punjab with PML(Q), MMA, BAP, and Independents.

This is a historic opportunity, don't let it slip away


EDIT: IF PTI forms the government in Punjab, Federal, KPK....and DELIVERS! Guess what? We might have an AKP being born in Pakistan. A party based on performance that is unbeatable. It's a long shot....but exciting times I tell ya!!

Heard that results start manipulated through ECP .. Khawaja Asif already manipulated the results and now 4th time ginti begin by ECP.. 2 times Dar leading and 3rd time Khawjaa Asif whats going on this shity PMLN paid ECP.

There are 6 seats of PML Q if i am not wrong. Add that plus there are 23 independents out of which i think 14 have assured PTI their support. That would puah PTI to 143.
Now N league has 127+ 9 i think are of PPP. So if the other 9 plus MMA also joins in with PMLN than PMLN can form a government in Punjab with ease. So the game is still on. PTI will have to play smart.

The fact that so much of the nation voted for PTI, suggests the nation wants change. Even in the seats it lost, in most PTI was a close second.

I appreciate on paper PMLN have /34 more seats, but PTI has just as much right to try to form government in Punjab as they do. The change was from PMLN to PTI, that is where the winds of change are heading and if PTI wants to have reform, it needs to have full control. Punjab is 50% of the population of Pakistan, it doesn't deserve being shunned because of political nicities.

I entirely agree. We must have PTI government lin Lahore. Besides anything we do want down the road a clash developimg between federal [Islamabad] and provincial [Lahore] governments. With PTI in Lahore we will have the largest province firmy working with Islamabad helping in improving running of the country.

If my memory is correct back in early 1990s Punjab government under NS and federal government under Benezir almost reached a point where they were fighting with each other literally. My uncle was a customs superintendent as ISB airport and he saw FIA and Punjab police actually punching each other over some issue. This was exposing the tension between both administrations. We do not want that.
