Srinagar, Apr 28: India and Pakistan would have to take all political parties and forces along for a solution to the Kashmir issue, the JKLF chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik has told Pakistans rising opposition leader, Imran Khan, opposing his views of putting the long-standing question on freeze as unwise and destructive.
On an extended visit to the neighbouring country, Malik made the remarks at a meeting with Khan prior to a dinner the star cricketer-turned politician had hosted in his honour, terming the deep freeze or back-burner option as adventurism that neither India nor Pakistan could afford.
The Kashmiri separatist leaders meeting with Khan, who heads his own Tehreek-e-Insaf (Movement for Justice) Party and has become a rallying figure for some major opposition voices, assumes significance in view of his recent views calling for the Kashmir issue to be put on the back-burner.
Describing the meeting between the duo as cordial and detailed, the JKLF said that Malik had called for taking everybody in the subcontinent on board for a concerted effort to resolve the long-standing issue.
I hope that all political parties and forces in India and Pakistan play a positive role and join hands to make the resolution process institutionalised and decisive for a solution in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, and with their inclusion, the JKLF quoted its chairman as having said.
