[Japan's path to NATO] Japan to scrap 1% GDP cap on defense spending: Minister Kishi

.
When F35B takes off vertically, the takeoff weight is only 16.8t. This means that it can only carry 3t of ammunition and oil. That is less than a LCA. If a plane had such a small range and bomb load, we wouldn't want it.

So, China built 076 class.

F35B is STOVL not VTOVL It can take off vertically but not with combat loads that wasn't a USMC design goal. it can take off with full combat loadout within 450 ft ski jump and slightly more without it. Still the marine intend to operate it from austere fields if it becomes operationally necessary.

Japan has enough weaponry to make China think thrice before taking any action. Japan doesn't need nukes cuz it has the backing of the US. There are several US bases within Japan.

Attacking Japan will mean attacking the US. If and when the US withdraws military support from Japan, it can easily gain nukes. And Japan won't be alone. It'll probably be in a regional alliance with South Korea, Taiwan and maybe Vietnam. All of China's neighbors know that if China advances on one of them, they'll be next. So China will be hard pressed into using diplomatic, economic and cyber coercion instead of a direct physical attack.

Even then, attack on any of the above will likely trigger WWIII and will significantly damage China to the point the US can step in and finish the job. Which is why China doesn't make a move on Taiwan yet...

And it might not for the next 25 years. :D

Fanboys and nationalists are obviously deny this and start the troll factory.

I need to tell you a message: the Biden administration is ready to announce that the USA will not be the first to use nuclear weapons. And although the Japanese have always advocated anti nuclear weapons, but this time, they oppose the USA not being the first to use nuclear weapons.

Do you know why?

Because this means that if China attacks Japan with conventional weapons, the USA will not use nuclear weapons. At most, the USA and China fought with conventional weapons in Japan.
This is the USA telling the Japanese not to normalize the country by provoking a war between China and the USA. From now on, Japan can also become a battlefield.

This also means that Japan has become a chip that the USA can sacrifice. If China's bid is high enough, the USA can exchange Japan for it.

Japan without nuclear weapons is a bargaining chip. But some people in this forum said that the Japanese do not want to have nuclear weapons, LOL.
Are you serious?
Ask any Japanese, they will not fight together South Korea.
Ask any South Korea, they will not fight together Japanese.
He didn't even understand this common sense, but he came to discuss East Asian politics. It's ridiculous.

You're right, thank you.

The USA is looking to add a another TF or Fleet HQ in Western Pacific. don't shoot the messenger. The new Org will either be based in Taiwan or Australia. Taiwan navy is old and full of outdated ships. the USA and others will be start supplying them with newer naval forces. but 1st they will improve their ground and air forces. then forces on their naval forces.

the ROK, Japan, Australia are not only building and developing more naval forces. but they are doing more and more joint operations. all three of them are improving their forces. because they fear China. I am not saying China will attack any of them. but they fear a more powerful china. rightly or wrongly. it is just how they feel.

cyber, space, electronic, Air & Sea warfare are the dominate areas of warfare if there is a future conflict in the pacific. other then the Korea Pen. ground forces are limited in were they can be deployed in mass. well at least till sea and air lanes are secured or at least local air/sea dominance is achieved.

these is why the USA is pushing so hard for a pacific alliances with these nations. once again i am not saying china will attack anyone. but the the USA & other nations feel challenged by china.

China just needs to continue to be economic power house. using it to stop these nations from joining a defense alliance. and trying to get it's own alliance.
