Really? lets do a small comparison of Type 99 and Leo II
Gun: almost the same ( if not Type 99 a bit better )
Armour: Type 99 > leo II ( somehow only P5 have the Technic of composite armour)
engine : Type 99 < leo II (both of them have 1500ps but German MTU is much much reliable )

So, we need a battle to see which of them is better.
Your hometown can be a good place to set up the stage.
Pffttt rubbish lol hahaha...

i thing it's unwise and uncalled to bragging against China when Indonesia itself is still at early phase of military modernization. At least they got everything from their own military Industries, and that's what is count when total war happened. You can't bought arms from foreign sources if your country is totally blockaded, self reliant is a key, and Indonesia is nowhere near that's capability. Or maybe you just another prima99

no need to be sticky, as there is much retards in PDF who always made their own separated thread for the same theme even though he/she can clearly seeing the sticky threads who contain the exact same information.

Well I think Naval engine uses turbine technology, thats why our state owned Naval building and Aerospace company make turbine companies together with General Electric.

which ones? i am never seen those kind project get a foothold right now. Give us a link at least

In the 'spirit' of omnidirectionality, i think Japan aims to be like India, Indonesia, Pakistan and China in the sense of having a "Non-Alignment" Policy. A non-alignment policy allows a nation to cooperate with every partner without fear of "hurting" any abstractist notion of a regional alliance system.

To put it short, I am of the opinion that a non-aligned Japan would be best for the Asia-Pacific region and the world.

Ultimately, i see the potential of Japan clashing with the United States as there will come a time where Japan will say no to the United States and the alliance system that had been set in place for the past 70 odd years will no longer be a reality in the Pacific Region.

It does sound a tad surprising to me that Japan may break away from the American sphere of influence. Looking forward to a possible Japan-US 'showdown' if this opportunity arises.

On-topic: Best of luck to Japan for their project.

Everything has a time and a purpose, America's close relationship with Japan had led to the realization of democratic values and a representative style of government that had been more transparent, structured in the old Imperial customs. One can say that post-war Japan (1950s,1960s) had focused on internal development as there was less emphasis on militarized protection and security issues --- as most of the Japanese overseas territories were lost. So, that is a good thing. Second, it has only been recently that Japanese have taken a more proactive position in terms of external defense and external mobilization, which is a right of any nation actually. Japan is capable of defending itself from any threat and there really is no exigent threat (sans North Korea) to Japan.

Its in my position that Japan can maintain some sort of fond relationship with the United States without having to sacrifice the potential to build on a security pact with Russia, the People's Republic of China and even South Korea. In fact it is the most practical (not the easiest i must say) thing to do --- and I think without American pressures and meddling of Washington state actors -- Japan could have realized a regional defense pact or regional economic community years if not decades ago.

Nevertheless , we are stand now here at the crossroads of the future , the potential to build on what we have done, and to look at the horizon of cooperation with the greater Northeast Asian Economic Community (Japan, Korea, China, Russia).

To put it short, I am of the opinion that a non-aligned Japan would be best for the Asia-Pacific region and the world.

Trust me, my friend, Japan's Omnidirectionality posture was the state policy from 1950s till the late 1970s. It was only recently in the late 1970s, early 1980s that the United States under Reagan had coaxed Japan to adopt its strategic visage under the pretense of the Soviet threat. This Soviet threat then later extended to the North Korean, then Chinese threat.

Japan under the previous prime ministers from 1950s till mid 1970s had planned for a strategic alliance with, don't be surprised buddy!, the Chinese State. Yes. This is no secret -- the goal was to ultimately forge a total , strategic alliance and network with the People's Republic of China.

That dream has since then been put on hold. It is on hold, it does not necessarily mean it is dead.

It use Diesel and Turbine together... basically, its bigger diesel engine after tank engines... you can do your own research

Well, what you can do is import parts or unfinished German engine and assemble/ finish in Turkey
Unlike in Chine, which is well known not rerspecting others and simply copy almost anything possible, things doesnt work like that in NATO. accept the difference little kid

That is a wise comment.

Even I don't agree with Nihonjin about the capability of Japan's military industrial complex, but with courtesy, I think it is better for the Chinese members to leave this thread alone as long as Nihonjin didn't make any provocative comments directly toward China here.

Japan is trying to copy the F-22 raptor, but all they can get is Shinshin.

I love Japan. Japanese should convey their philosophy, values, attitude and worldview to Turkey. This country and its people are a shining example, a pattern, a model, an ideal for me. I bow before the greatness of the Japanese heritage. The aspiration, mindfulness and willpower of the Japanese people are unique worldwide.
