KULLU (HIMACHAL PRADESH): A Japanese woman was allegedly raped by a taxi driver in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu on Friday.

The police has registered a case and arrested a person based on clues given by the woman.

"Case has been registered and one person also arrested. Victim has been sent for the medical test," said Superintendent of Police, Kullu, Shalini Agnihotri.

"According to the victim the accused is a taxi driver. Further investigation underway," she added.

Her medical test reports are awaited.

4-Year-Old Raped, Stabbed, Dumped In Container In Haryana's Faridabad

The incident took place on Thursday in Asaoti village in Faridabad's Palwal, about 80 kilometres from New Delhi. A medical test has confirmed the child was raped before she was killed.

The accused, 24-year-old Bholu alias Virender, had been working for the victim's father for the last nine years. On Thursday afternoon, he took the girl who was sitting at the shop to his house and then brutally raped her. He then stabbed her to death and stuffed her body in a drum at his house.

After committing the crime, he came back to the shop. In the evening, when the girl was not found anywhere, he also accompanied her parents for a while in searching for her. A neighbour informed the parents that he had seen Bholu taking the child away.

The villagers reached Bholu's house where they got into an argument with the accused's mother, the only person in the house and found the dead body in a drum.

"When we started to look for her, he too participated along with us and kept fooling us. When we went to his house, his mother didn't tell us anything. She was not even willing to open the door and turned off the lights where the drum was kept," the girl's father said.


"We want him to be hanged to death. He was so brutal to my daughter. We want justice.
Justice because we lost our daughter but nobody else should lose their child," said her mother.

"The accused has been arrested under sections of IPC (Indian Penal Code) and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) and sent for three days of custody. We are investigating all CCTV footage, blood stains and eyewitness statements," said Devender Singh, a police officer.

Bholu, who has been arrested, is married but his wife was not living with him for the last two years, the police said.

As per latest National Crime Records Bureau Data of 2016, in 2016, around 13 per cent of underage female victims were of age 11 and below. In 94.6 per cent of the rape cases reported in 2016, the offenders were known to the victims.
