Japanese Defense Ministry may sell sea rescue aircraft to India

The Japanese one is much more rugged. Remember jet engines are far more vulnerable, especially to salt water corrosion.

Its a plane for the coast guard to rescue people on the high seas, not for troop transport.

Lot of Titanium in the Be-200, which don´t corrode in saltwater. Remember that Beriev got
long experience with this kind of aircrafts, since the Be-10 that flew first in 1956 and the Be-42 as well.

But still, if one of the engines will have problems, the aircraft might not be able to fly anymore, that's where the US-2 should have an advantage, next to range, loiter time and as the comparison that I added in post #9 shows, the take off and landing distance is much shorter as well, which should give it some advantages in bay areas around our islands.
