nobody says of economic sanction on China. if the West wants, it can because it has the means. Look at Russia and Iran. Don´t overestimate your strength. China is not a country that is irreplaceable.

I think they've lost considerable self confidence seeing the fiascoes and foreign policy disasters during the past decade - from Iraq to Somalia to the CAR, the Middle East to Ukraine and Afghanistan. They don't want more egg on their faces by meddling in the South China Sea. Thus the quiet retreat. And that's a blessing in disguise for the world in general.

When you go to check the Kongo and Atago class DDG, Japan has only built the hull, while the rest is all American.
