The ban we enacted on Russians were minor, only some Crimean officials. They also put some minor ban on some of our officials. Its necessary -- tit for tat -- a political show.

Realistically speaking, Russia is interested in continuing its energy sales with Japan. They are actually our 4th largest energy provider, and they have shown keen interest in increasing their sales.

They know that Papua New Guinea and Canada have been courting Japan to buy their gas. Putin knows that the $38 Billion bilateral trade between Japan and Russia is based on --- Energy Sales. Putin wants to do preserve and possibly increase sales to Japan.
