This is the second instance of a security personnel committing suicide on the border in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir in the past nine days.

A 35-year-old army jawan shot himself to death with his service weapon while on duty along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir, in the second instance of a trooper committing suicide on the border in the past nine days. Roshan Singh, a Sepoy of the Rastriya Rifles, committed suicide by shooting himself while on duty along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishnagati belt in Poonch district yesterday, a senior Army officer said.

Singh, who hails from Punjab, had joined the army 14 years ago. Police have registered a case and started investigation. The army has also ordered a Court of Inquiry into the case, the officer said. This is the second instance of a security personnel committing suicide on the border in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir in the past nine days.

On February 25, BSF Constable Pramodh Kumar, who was guarding a forward post along the LoC in Poonch district, committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle.

After a clash with Freedom Fighters indian soldier commit suicide .
Someone is hiding the casualties :D

RIP.
Indian Army already has one of the Lowest suicide rate among all professional armies which reveal data: USA, Canada, Israel, Turkey, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Australian, France, Germany etc.
All above countries have higher military suicide rates than Indian but still there is scope for further improvement by India.

I'm not here to troll , just pointing out a fact , why is it so high though?

I think we can have a policy at PDF not to ridicule, mock, rejoice death of soldiers from whatever military they belong. This is not only greatly disrespectful but is also a disservice to one's own military (whose deaths in turn will be rejoiced by key board warriors from the opponents)

^^ agreed , if my post sounded like that I apologize , was pointing out a fact , I am no fan of this , war is wrong imo , no matter who fights it, mainly because it's preventable most of the time. What is the main reason of suicide in armies : stress , which comes mainly from the hard work they do i.e. War , if India and Pakistan can work out their differences we could achieve a lot more , I'm one for peace among both countries.

There is a policy...... But not enforced.....

due to his cowardness and sound of fire shots. Pakistani soldiers would have been on alert. It is usual business there.
