It's Boeing's fault not putting an RWR on Boeing 777. Led to the loss of MH17 and hundreds of lives.

If they put an RWR on Boeing 777, the pilot would have been alerted of being illuminated by radar and would have taken evasive maneuvers to save the lives of hundreds of people. It's a shame Boeing didn't even bother putting an RWR on Boeing 777.

Which single engined plane are you talking about?

If they put an RWR on Boeing 777, the pilot would have been alerted of being illuminated by radar and would have taken evasive maneuvers to save the lives of hundreds of people.
So far it is not standard practice to put RWRs on commercial airliners. Only if an airline requests, such "modifications" are put in place. Such as the FedEx aircraft and the American Air Force One.

You can't blame this on Boeing

After that you will post about installing Chaff and flares in it then EW to jam radar etc.

Its a civilian airliner not military bird, and these birds can not avoid advance SAMs with evasive maneuvers.

I wonder what options the pilot had if he knew the airplane is being illuminated?

Being dead and hell scared till that time.

RWR would alert him hundreds of kilometers from Buk, way outside Buk range. He would not have taken that route if he was alerted by RWR. MH17 would not have been shot down if Boeing 777 has RWR.

Civilians planes can be targeted by mistake if they fly over a war zone. Happened before. Will happen again.

sorry but the mentioned BUK was not a complete system with the big bad target acquisition RADAR that can be detected from 100s of km away ,it was a lone TELAR with it's small radar that probably turn the radar on just before the missile launch .

by the way if that RWR could detect BUK from 100s of kilometer away , ten I suggest you to also install it on military air-crafts. and please show me a path in the eastern Europe that don't trip the alarms .
