Italy refugees financing 600,000 pensioners: Report

A recent research shows asylum seekers and refugees arriving in Italy from outside the European Union provide enough social contributions to fund hundreds of thousands of Italian pensioners.

According to figures expected to be released in Italy’s 2015 Legal Yearbook on Thursday, non-EU asylum seekers or refugees paid some eight billion euros into the country’s welfare coffers in 2014, while only taking three billion euros out of pensions and other benefits.

The figures collected by the review’s editor, Roberto Garofoli, suggest the amount is enough to finance 600,000 annual pensions in Italy.

The official data show these refugees were responsible for establishing nearly one in five or 18.1 percent of new companies registered in the country in 2014.

His research concluded that non-EU refugees contributed 6.8 billion euros in income tax and were proportionately more likely to register for value-added tax payment in comparison with any other community in the society.

Over 230,000 asylum seekers and refugees arrived in Italy in 2014 and 2015, with most of them being rescued by boats off Libya.

Over the past few years, some four million refugees have arrived in Italy from countries outside the EU such as Albania and other parts of eastern Europe, North Africa, China, South Asia, and the Philippines.

This comes as Europe is also facing an unprecedented influx of refugees, most of whom are fleeing conflict-ridden zones in Africa and the Middle East, particularly Syria.

Many blame support by some Western countries for militants operating in the Middle East as the main reason behind the departure of refugees from their home countries.

So Italians are now living off refugee money now. The privileged and developed country needs money from poor refugees to pay for its old people. Shameless! I tell you.

It comes even better. The Mafia uses them as slaves on the fields. They have no rights as illegals and once they can´t work anymore get decomissioned into the mediterranean sea. The benefits for italy are colossal.

1. When tehy arrive they get all their money taken away and are put into camps at lampedusa and sicily. The money we take goes directly into our budget.

2. We get money from the EU for the "burden" we have with them.

3. Mafia uses them as slaves on the fields.

So its basicly like this Kinder Sorpresa:

Its fun, something sweet to eat and a suprise. So its 3 things in one.

There is a reason why all those Migrants switched to greece and don´t come here anymore. :(

"Bella Italia" may be beautiful...but being beautiful doesn´t mean you are nice. :D

Uhm, what exactly is shameless? That if you work legally, you pay taxes and contribute to the welfare system of the country? And then if/when you don't have work or cannot work, and you are legal, you receive from that welfare system? Essentially, the article is saying 4 million refugees have moved into the mainstream, which is good news imho.

Nowhere does it say Italy NEEDS money from refugees to pay for its old people.
Also, lets not assume refugees are necessarily POOR.

Nothing. Just did what Markus does in all Indian threads. Not use brains.

So now Italians are slave traders. Bloody medieval culture. Always knew Italians never progressed in the real sense. Not to mention corrupt to the core with the Mafia and all that.

How so ?
They can expelled any time.
They are cheap labour , abused and taken for granted.
Their social security contributions are worth only if they stay for long period or retire in the country.
Not to mention the hostile local populace.

These refugees are being taken for a ride. Their life will just hang in a balance between govt deportation and local hostile populace. After some years once they start asking for benefits they will be shown the door and they will have to flee the country all over again. Its just a temporary mirage of solace. This is advanced neocon-slavery without use of any force.
Very smart europeans I would say.

you arent a trader when the slaves come too you. :D Nobody invited them. So when they come they make themself useful. See them as a resource.

What makes you think, I am not being? Just returning the courtesy of being sarcastic the way he is on Indian threads.

So you are even lower! Being a developed and 'privileged' country you do not help them but turn them into slaves  Italians are even worse than I thought:police:

Oh really? Perhaps you should read the article first, as it is talking about 4 million that have arrive in Italy over the past year and compares what they have paid in (8 billion) to what they received (3 billion) from the welfare system. A state welfare system is something which you only get access to when you are LEGAL i.e. staying and recognized. The fact that they pay in more than they receive means that, on the whole, they are gainfullly employed and/or entrepreneurs with some succes (enough to stay in business). Hence the article refers to income tax received from this group (no income > no income tax) and registration for value added tax payment (no business, no need for registration). If you don't know what you talk about and or BLAB mindlessly, please do so in another thread or forum.

The word “migrant” describes a person who leaves home to seek a new life in another region or country. The word is used broadly. It includes those who move through legal channels—to take a job in another country or region, for instance, or to rejoin family members—as well as those who move across borders without a visa or government approval. (The latter is often called irregular or undocumented migration.)

The word “refugee” describes someone fleeing war, persecution, or natural disasters. Under international law, no one can be sent to a place where they face a real risk of being persecuted or seriously harmed by others. Those claiming this status can ask for asylum—legal permission to stay as a refugee—which brings with it rights and benefits. This application process can be lengthy and complicated. Not every asylum seeker will be recognized as a refugee, but every refugee is initially an asylum seeker."

They are a rescource. They aren´t italians. They aren´t europeans. They aren´t christians. They are free game.

With all honesty. I´m a elitist my friend. The high standards i place on myself and my people are not put on others.
For example i enjoy to make vacation with my girl on Costa Crociere. Thats italian cruise corporation. You enjoy absolute luxus and style and ll this glitter is based on slave work. There is a strict division between the italian crew members (captain, officers, high ranking staff) and the hordes of minions from abroad who work for slave money under hardest conditions.

They are basicly invisible. I think its perfectly fine to use the bad economical situation in their nations to achieve greater goals over here.

We made a indian ocean cruise this december. Costa neoRomantica...we went Mauritius-Seychelles-Madagascar-la Reunion-Mauritius

Madagascar was the most awesome place. The nature was breathtaking. But the poverty unimaginable as well. We visited Lokobe Rainforest at Nosy Be and the Red Tsingy at Diego Suarez and i can tell you the contrast between the Ocean Liner and the nation there was gigantic. You left the ship where violin players played classic italian music in the hallways and entered a area where people did not even have electricity. For them it was an gigantic event because most maybe neer before saw such a ship.

I dont feel bad for them. It is like it is. They have their role. We have ours.

Wow you can claim whatever you want, but one thing is certain they are simply being taken for granted.
They are cheap labour it keeps wages low benefitting locals who want manual labour.
Social security taxes do not provide immediate benefit but long term, if you pay now it will benefit when you retire. Will they retire in Italy? probably not. I have worked overseas and I know how things work. You simply cannot take your hard earned money, it will be taxed to the last cent, umpteen laws will prevent it taken out of country. They are just stuck in italy with their savings. There is no such thing as charity.

I'm not claiming anything. I'm explaining an article to someone who has either not read it or not understood it. And doesn't want to.

'Welfare' is what you get from government when you have no means to support yourself and no job and no unemployment benefits. This is immediate and requires only that you are legal.

Unemployments benefits are what you get from government when you loose your job and have to bridge a period of time. This is when you have been around for some time, worked legally and got sacked. That is fairly immediate.

Pension is what you get from government when you retire. They idea is that you stay in order to retire. That is how the pot gets built up. Of course you don't get to take it elswhere. And why would you, when you've moved to a different country as refugee?

It is no different for me as Dutch: I don't get to take social security payments back to the Netherlands after having worked a few years in the US, e.g. during studies or as trainee, for example. Unless I got a greencard (permanent residency) and the number of years - and hence pot of money I paid in - is sufficient.

It seems you already have you mind set. So that is the end of my discussion with you. G'day, enjoy hating the Italians.

Mate, I pointed out the fact and I am not hating any body. We can always disagree with each other without eating or hating each other.
