Italian Navy lauds PN professional capabilities

KARACHI: Attilio Gattia, the Commanding Officer of Italian Navyââ¬â¢s Patrol vessel ITS Bettica that participated in multinational naval exercise ââ¬ËAman 07ââ¬â¢, has lauded the Pakistan Navy (PN) for its professional capabilities and said that they learned a lot during the war games.
Talking to the newsmen on board his ship ITS Bettica, anchored at Keamari Port, he said that it was his first visit to Karachi and they were highly impressed and inspired by PNââ¬â¢s operational and warfare capabilities.
Italian Defence Attache at Italyââ¬â¢s Embassy in Islamabad, Colonel (Army) Antonio Pennino was also present on the occasion.
Introducing his ship ITS Bettics, he said that it was actually a patrol ship that assists coast guards in the deep sea and carry out surveillance and monitoring of EEZ, search and rescue operations as well as entrusted with the task of preventing human smuggling.
Terming his participation in the war games as highly successful, he said that despite the VVIP movements during the exercise, it was entirely a professional activity.
