Iduk reports a threefold increase in revenue in 2020
September 16, 2020
The company has announced an additional $ 20 million raising, amid the demand in the world of radiology for AI-based solutions. The company has so far received FDA approvals for its six algorithms, including for identifying corona symptoms
Aidoc, a company that develops artificial intelligence-based algorithms that decipher imaging scans in hospitals and alert to emergencies, today announced a $ 20 million fundraiser, as part of an expansion of the B round of funding. To date, the company has raised about $ 60 million. The company explains that the recruitment is intended to meet the growing demand for AI-based solutions in the field of radiology, and notes that the company's revenues have tripled so far in 2020.
Idok operates in the growing field of using artificial intelligence to decipher imaging scans such as X-rays, CT and MRI. The company's platform interfaces with the hospital's server and automatically checks the imaging scans of the inpatients or patients in the emergency room. The system can detect abnormal findings such as intracranial hemorrhage, spinal fracture or stroke. Usually, the radiologist on duty at the hospital checks the scans in the order in which they arrive. Aydok's system prioritizes for the radiologist the scans that may have indicated emergencies that require urgent treatment. The development of the algorithms is based on in-depth learning and big-data analysis of millions of photographs and scans in order to extract patterns that characterize syndromes and medical conditions.
To date, the company has received FDA approvals for six algorithms it has developed. In May, the FDA received approval for a new algorithm to detect findings related to corona infection in imaging scans in hospitals. According to the company, its platform is deployed in about 400 medical centers around the world.
