Israeli army promotes Saudi fatwas against 'chaos'
An Israeli army spokesman appeared in a video recording using Saudi fatwas as justification for arguing that Palestinians should not take part in upcoming protests against the occupation.

"The Saudi scholar, Sheikh Saleh al-Fawzan, has decreed for banning demonstrations and sit-ins, saying that this behaviour has nothing to do with the Muslims’ ethics, and that it is a characteristic of infidels and a sense of anarchy and chaos that is not tolerated by Islam," said Avichay Adraee.

"Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen stated that sit-ins and violent demonstrations are evil, because they lead to chaos."

Adraee’s warning comes as Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were scheduled to start protests on Friday, staging a "March of Return" to the border with Israel.

More than a million of the residents of the Gaza Strip were, or are descended from, those originally expelled from historic Palestine in 1948 during the establishment of the state of Israel.

These are old fatwas to prevent domestic Saudi population from demonstrating against the government. The IDF spokesmen is using random fatwas. Palestinians are demonstrating against an a foreign force subjugating them. He should stop being childish and instead consult with Palestinians on social media on what they believe is needed to bring about an end to the conflict.

I've made it clear to you before that I am not interested in your agenda. I am no enemy to the people of Saudi Arabia and have roots to there. I think it is beautiful nation and love the holy sites. The people are also very hospitable. I am also no enemy to the Iranian people, think they have interesting culture and history. I am not favorable of either governments. It certainly seems to be a questionable approach on the part of the IDF.

Palestinians are demonstrating against an a foreign force subjugating them.

If you mean Israel then one's conviction of such fades with the news that armed Gazans have appeared in Israel who somehow didn't manage to carry out attacks but managed to be arrested anyway, perhaps so they can go to prison as "terrorists" and thus receive three square meals a day plus education.
