My take on this must be clear from my earlier post, but I see no need to block Israel's bid into the Security Council.
Reports like in the OP suggest Arab League is drafting a resolution.

Israel is the only ME country not to have a seat and they deserve to bid for it as much as anyone.

US acceptance of Jerusalem is move to exploit the current middle east situation where Israel is no longer the only bad guy.
