:pop:A former top agent of Israel's intelligence agency Mossad has suggested that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad be snatched and dragged before the International Court of Justice.

"We must snatch the Iranian President who uses the same discourse as Hitler on the need to exterminate the people of Israel, in order to take him to the International Court in the Hague," said Pensioners Minister Rafi Eitan, who is a member of Israel's security cabinet.

"I believe Mossad has the capability of doing this," he told army radio.

He said he had no advice as to how such an operation would be carried out.

"I leave that up to younger people," said Mr Eitan, 81.

As a senior Mossad agent, Mr Eitan organised and participated in the daring capture in Buenos Aires (Argentina) of fugitive Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann.

Eichmann, who was considered one of the leading architects of the Holocaust, was covertly flown to Israel where he was sentenced to death and hanged.

Mr Eitan said last week that Mossad cancelled at the last minute a plan to also snatch notorious Nazi doctor Josef Mengele in Argentina in 1960, so as not to jeopardise the capture of Eichmann.

Iran raps Israel 'kidnap threat'
BBC NEWS | Middle East | Iran raps Israel 'kidnap threat'

Iran has protested to the UN after an Israeli minister suggested his country could kidnap Iran's president over threats he has made against Israel.

Iran's UN ambassador called the remark "outrageous and vicious" and called on the UN Security Council to take action.

Israeli minister Rafi Eitan suggested President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad could be kidnapped and brought to trial.

Mr Eitan, an ex-intelligence chief, was involved in the kidnap of leading Nazi Adolf Eichmann in Argentina in 1960.

In an interview with the German magazine Der Spiegel, Mr Eitan suggested that such an operation could be staged to bring Mr Ahmadinejad before the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

The Iranian leader has made a number of threats against Israel, repeatedly predicting the state will soon disappear.

Mr Ahmadinejad also drew international rebuke by quoting the view of the late Iranian spiritual leader, Ayatollah Khomenei, that Israel was a tumour that needed to be erased from history.

'Resolute response'

In a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, the ambassador Mohammad Khazee said Mr Eitan's remarks reflected Israel's "aggressive and terrorist nature", Iran's Irna news agency reported.

"These dangerous threats of resorting to criminal acts against the officials of a sovereign country, or threatening to use force against a member of the United Nations not only constitute manifest violations of international law and contravene the most fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations, but are against the basic values of the civilised world," he said.

Mr Khazee said such remarks demanded "a resolute and clear response" by the UN and its security council.

Iran, he said, had never threatened any other nation but "would not hesitate to act in self-defence to respond to any attack against its territory or its people".

Israel has expressed increasing concern about what it considers to be a threat from Iran's nuclear programme and recently suggested it might resort to military force to stop it.

Iran has insisted its nuclear ambitions are solely peaceful.

Israel is the one middle eastern country on which no western power lifts even a finger whatever it does. They are free to invade other countries, bomb their facilities, kill their citizens and what not and still it is considered a respectable and civilized country. They have an almost Nazi like racist system in their country and no one cares. What a shame on the western countries for their dual standards!!! Actually they are ruling the world with the USA as proxy, as Mahathir Mohammad said correctly.

With Iranian missiles pointed at Israel, Rafi Eitan seems to has completely lost his mind.

Isreal has no capability of even coming near to Iran and this old b****** is giving such ideas?

May be age factor...

Ahmedinejad has really not done anything yet.

Plus kidnapping a fugitive and kidnapping the President aint the same thing, old man.

Israel protests that Iran can't preach morality
Israel protests that Iran can't preach morality | World news | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle
UNITED NATIONS — Israel responded to an Iranian protest over "dangerous" comments by Israeli officials, saying Wednesday it is "absurd" for a country whose president has repeatedly called for the Jewish state's destruction to preach morality in international affairs.

Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Khazee sent a letter Tuesday to the U.N. secretary-general protesting threats by Israeli ministers to kidnap President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and to use force against the Islamic Republic.

"These dangerous threats ... not only constitute manifest violations of international law and contravene the most fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations, but are against the basic values of the civilized world," Khazee wrote to Ban Ki-moon.

Israel's new U.N. ambassador, Gabriela Shalev, responded in a statement Wednesday saying that "it is absurd that Iran preaches morality to Israel."

"Iran's president repeatedly denies the Holocaust and calls — again and again — for the destruction of the state of Israel," she said.

Shalev said Ahmadinejad leads a country "that develops nuclear capabilities endangering the entire world."

"As such, Iran is under United Nations sanctions for its non-compliance with the international community," she said. "Furthermore, Iran openly and actively supports and arms terrorist organizations."

Ahmadinejad is feared and reviled in Israel because of his repeated calls to wipe the Jewish state off the map, and his aggressive pursuit of nuclear technology has only fueled Israel's fears. Iran insists its nuclear program is purely for civilian purposes, but the U.S., Israel and key European nations suspect its real aim is to produce atomic weapons.

Shalev urged the U.N. Security Council to stay focused on the Iranian nuclear issue and Tehran's failure to comply with other international norms "in order to halt Iran's threats against Israel and the world."

In his letter to Ban, Iran's Khazee referred to comments Tuesday by Israeli Cabinet Minister Rafi Eitan that kidnapping Ahmadinejad would be "an acceptable option" and to comments Sept. 3 by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak repeating the threat to use force against Iran.

I believe that Israel alone can't do the kidnapping but with US help sure they can do that. But it will be start of another war. Gosh..... no not needed as of now. Things can be sorted out diplomatically.

You are right ...........but It would be diffiult even with help of US as right now the dynamics of the International Politics is changing due to the rise of Russia......

Let's first see the US kidnap OBL first.

You CAN kill him. But not take him alive.

Israelis can only suggest cheap things as they don’t have any moral or ethical values.

Interesting. If they want to play, let them pay
