If they get popular mandate they can implement whatever they want - the Shariah, the Swiss Civil Code or the English Civil Law ! Thats how democracy works..init ?

Its really sad. its a horrible horrible religion and im genuinely worried about its implications on human development and scientific growth.

We would be more worried about enforcing sharia and deciding on the proper height for skirts than about space exploration or mars missions.

There are many secular muslim countries around the world. I guess it's more to do with region. People in this entire region(middle east and south asia) are a bunch of crackpots. There are muslim countries in Central Asia with over 90% muslim populations , they are secular and i've never heard of any violence against minorities in these countries.

Tajikistan , Uzbekistan , Turkmenistan , Kazakhstan , Azerbaijan , Turkey , Kyrgyzstan . Have you ever heard of religious violence in these countries? There are also many Muslim countries in Africa with a clean history except maybe 1-2 major incidents.
I would say , get Saudi Arabia out of the world map and you'll see eternal peace. That is the place from which hatred is propagated.
