Damascus, Homs, Hama, western Aleppo, even Daraa are all heavily pro Baath. That's why insurgency in those places all failed. These places as well as the coastal areas are Baath strongholds.

Good to hear. I think the entire western part of Syria should remain 'regime'. The militants can keep the north, center and east.
