I said it's a very old practice that's not going to just go away in 60+ years of independence. Im blatantly telling you that it exists in the country, no different to racism, sectarian violence in many other countries around the world, including India. But do most countries support racism, or sectarian violence? No, same as India doesnt support the caste system. Did the Indian state intervene and stop the current PM from taking his post, because of his caste? Was there even a mass national uproar because of his low caste? No. Or did the Indian state intervene when Mayawati became the CM of UP several times? No.

Caste system has existed for 1000+ years, much longer than for example Africans and Whites Americans even knew of each other. Or even much longer than the European sense of superiority over black Africans. And it's only how long since slavery has ended? Or how long since the civil rights movement? And just now there is a black President?

So no, it's not going to just not be there. But It is against the law to discriminate based on caste. And many have quota rights, and other reservations. It's not something the Indian state supports period.
