Pakistans Majid Khan wins London Open Squash

LONDON (UK): Pakistans Majid Khan beat Englishman Alex Strait in the final showdown of the London Open Squash at the Cumberland Club here and won the title.
Majid Khan beat Alex Strait 3-2 in a tough contest of five games. The 23-year-old qualifier from Peshawar beat his rival 11-8, 9-11,9-11,11-4,11-7.
Squash legend Jansher Khan and another compatriot Shahid Zaman were crashed out of the contest in the first round of the tournament.
Majid Khan was sent London under special sponsorship of PSA, Secretary Pakistan Squash Federation Shamsul Haq said.
The federation has decided to sponsor the players in future seeing positive results of the step, he added.●
