What's new

Is Pakistan already a bankrupt state?

HEY FOOL,

IT IS WE, INDIANS WHO PUT THEM IN THIS SITUATION BY MAKING THEIR CORRUPT POLITICIANS TAKE MANY LOANS. THERE IS NO REASON WHY WE SHOULD BAIL THEM OUT.
Im not fool, you are.

I said " India will help only on its terms and conditions ".
Don't you get it yet? Very naive.

See even negative threads can have some positive results as we now have a consensus that Indian toilet crisis is far too urgent and it's showing Indian state's dire situation of not being able to provide such basic amenity to it's people as such not in a position to help others at all.
true indeed, human stupidity knows no bounds.

Just yesterday he was ridiculing a Pakistani member for discussing about Indian Economy and today he is again behaving like a headless Chicken .....
@ Topic, Jairam Ramesh called India , the world's largest open air toilet.....one should thus assume, Modi sarkar also spends morning sitting on rail tracks.....

These are morally corrupt People man. They dont deserve any attention.

They are trying to funnel the corrupt money which went outside into their country through this way. You might have read a US pakistani wanted to donate 1 Billion( I leave it to your imagination).

Secondly they want to show it as a people's project.

If it is corrupt money, no one will give it back. Pakistan's situation is worst in real sense.
Otherwise no Head of state begs like that. Not even Greece did that.

Aswan Dam in Egypt was built through donations in the 60's, many projects by Mahatir Mohammad in Malaysia was started through donations and so this is not something which is not feasible, in fact people own such projects started by donations.

BTW what India can help is not by building dams in Pakistan it is through not building dams in Chenab and Indus river and Jhelum river as well, India is building dams flouting the IWT. The recent talks on IWT is a case in point.

The situation is bad, I am only talking about the things that are happening there.
They mortgaged most of the performing assets and lands to China.

Troll, go find some random tweets to create threads. This is not a section you are use to be.
This is Economic section.
And why were you getting your saree in a twist when others were discussing the same about your country.
Besides you are not that clever to comment on others....

I am assumig this is a honest question. The problem with dams in the past has been lack of vision and political will. It's about agenda. If any of the previous governments had really gone into building dams they would have built them. By asking the nation to donate building dams has been turned into a national priority. And this will bring on board everybody. I doubt the money from donations will build the dams but certainly the political energy that is being garned will unite the nation towards this goal. And that is what this is all about.

Here’s another point that very few Pakistanis are debating...is Daimler Basha the dam that needs building? IK spent a lot of time in his address talking about water shortage etc but the really important dam to build for that would have been the Kalabagh Dam. Daimler Basha is upstream of tarbela dam and would probably have severe limitations for canal construction because of its location. It’s primarily a hydro power project, important no doubt but 10 years too late, what with the rash of power projects already signed on for. Kalabagh Dam is more controversial with different provinces having objections but that would be the project with the greatest use of water for irrigation. Also, that would be easier to secure funding from international lenders than Diamer Basha for which the lending agencies have already refused citing Indian objections.

Can IK cut some defence budget and divert some money towards dams? As we do have funds for DHA and other BS projects. It won’t effect our defence as we are nuclear state and soldiers are still using Pickups, they didn’t get MRAP’s few years ago when things were hot, now situation is much improved. IK is a joke, he can’t run Pakistan like Shaukat khanim. Period

I didn't have problem in discussing India's matter. I had problem with fake source of news.

India can build how many ever dams it wants on the Chenab, Indus and Jhelum, it a common misconception among Pakistanis that India is flouting the IWT. Pakistan has never won a case against India on that score and the main objects raised are about design, usually about drawdown flushing. Pakistan has never made the argument that India can’t build dams on those rivers, those are loony television anchors who do that.

I must be getting old as I thought one of them was on Indus river and the other on Jhelum River.
