Is Kamala Devi Harris Vice President Democrat Nominee a Threat To Pakistan!

Yes, Democrats are usually leaned towards India not necessarily against Pakistan. Republicans are usually neutral type with slight leaning towards Pakistan.

This time around it looks different. Modi's very public embrace of Trump has pissed off a lot of democrats.

My take on this is that Democrats have typically leaned towards India because, before Modi, India represented a 'democratic, secular, free State', which Democrats/liberals saw as being a natural ally. For Democrats/liberals, Pakistan represented in many ways everything they disliked about right-wing conservatives in the US - a focus on religion, religious persecution and of course the fact that Pakistan did not have strong democratic fundamentals.

Republican support for Pakistan has, in my view, historically stemmed from their willingness to put 'morals/ethics' to the side and support any country or regime (democrat or non-democrat) in pursuit of their interests. Once you take away the common interests over the Soviets and now Afghanistan, there really isn't much for the Republicans to go out of their way to support Pakistan over.

Republicans are strong supporters of Israel - Pakistan opposes Israel
Republicans have a bias against Muslims - Pakistan is an Islamic Republic
Republicans are currently obsessed with China - Pakistan remains a strong ally of China

So, take Afghanistan out of the equation, and the Republicans would likely have little issue with dumping Pakistan for India.

Pakistan needs to focus on improving its economy and expanding its domestic market, which would provide space for big ticket purchases from the US as well as help US exports to Pakistan along with US investment in Pakistan. Rebuilding the US-Pakistan relationship (irrespective of Republicans or Democrats being in charge) is a long term process strongly tied to Pakistan's economic growth and development.

IMHO our economic development is now contingent on independence and neutrality.

We should eject ourselves from these alignments and blocs. Rather, we should develop an objective foreign policy framework that clearly reads the reality, and then we work to impose ourselves on that reality.

For example, we know that China wants economic integration, but this is to drive Chinese economic interests -- ours and others be dammed. So, in response, we should acknowledge why China wants that integration, but aggressively assert that we are the gatekeepers. If you want to invest in Pakistan, then you must partner with a Pakistani entity and split the equity, hire locally, source locally, etc.

This is going to jump start our private sector, and it'll show both the US and China that we're not either side's pawn or lackey. It'll show both Washington and Beijing that we are as every bit our own power as New Delhi, and in turn, we'll start getting more respect as a result of it.

I heard previously that much of the CPEC investment is benefiting Chinese companies. Is that true or not and are there provisions in the agreement to source locally all materials, labor, products etc?

As if the Democrats are any different?

The pursuit of national interests is relentless, regardless of who forms the government, and utterly devoid of any personal attributes such as morality or ethics. For ALL countries. Equally.

What's wrong with trump ?

He hasn't started any new wars or invasions during his tenure, seems all good to me.

He's also turning out to be an isolationist, isn't that what the rest of us what ? A America that doesn't intervene where it shouldn't.

Let us accept the bitter truth; the USA has used Pakistan whenever it served ' US' interests. It started just after the Korean War with the SEATO & Baghdad Pact/CENTO membership and culminated with the WOT after 9/11. Pakistan has therefore been and would be again (If & when needed by the USA) a 'Tactical' partner. But we must also remember that we were there to be 'Used' because Pakistan saw no other way to balance the military inequality with India except through the US aid. India on the other hand has been a 'Strategic' partner/ friend of the USA ever since the 1962 India/China fracas.

Architect of this friendship was John Kenneth Galbraith, US Ambassador to India between 1961-1963, who was a personal friend of John F Kennedy. I remember reading somewhere that in 1966 Galbraith stated that the 1965 war was a direct result of US military aid to Pakistan. US foreign policy has not changed in 'Essence' ever since the Kennedy era. Admittedly, no other Republican president was out & out 'Pro'Indian' like Donald Trump.

In my humble opinion, Kamala Harris, if elected, is not likely to make any significant difference in the US foreign policy. Therefore she is definitely no 'Threat' to Pakistan. I am of the opinion that no future US president could be as hostile to Pakistan as Mr. Trump has been and any change in the US leadership would be for the better for overall Pakistani interests.

In the era where UAE is rewarding Israel for not carrying on with the illegal annexation of Palestinian lands, by having full diplomatic relations, only the naive Pakistanis can be surprised by the Saudis Arabian refusal to support Pakistan for raising the Kashmir issue at the OIC forum? Every Pakistani should learn Iqbal's verse; hay jurme zaeefi ki saza marge mafajat (punishment of the crime of being weak is sudden death). Unless we make Pakistan economically strong, we shall remain militarily & politically weak, a country about whom the international community does nor care a whole lot.

Shameless liar, her grandfather discussed how people should be treated equally on the walks? Why would someone discuss that if people were treated equally in that society? has she ever watched the news what kind of animals indians=hindus are and how they are killing other minorities left, right and centre.

Kamala Devi Harris born October 20, 1964 is an American politician and lawyer who has served as the junior US Senator from California since 2017. She is the Presumptive Democratic Nominee for Vice President in the 2020 election.

Born out from an Indian mother and an Caribbean father, Kamala is very proud of her Indian origins and heritage.

Pakistanis should vote for Trump, if he is not good for Pakistan at least he is destroying America.

If Joe Biden/Kamala Harris win, I will delete my PDF account. That's a fair wager considering I am so addicted here.
