That's not what I was responding to.

I am just showing a correlation, that having 4 or whatever times the "nominal" GDP that is touted here (for purpose of claiming powerhouse status) by Chinese and assortment of their cheerleaders apparently doesnt reduce their immigration to the US by the same 4 times....in fact not even close.

Likely there is more to it than "nominal GDP" after all. But its conversation they never stick around for.

As for the longer trends of economic size and population migration patterns on that, that remains to be seen.

I haven't read this thread but if you are asking if more Chinese and Indians have been moving to the US over the past 10 years even though their native countries have seen a jump in GDP/Standard of living then that would be an affirmative.

There has been a dramatic increase in Chinese. Which would sound contradictory to their recent economic success. Seems the better it gets in China the more the people flee.

It is paper-contracts that being traded... future contracts ... there is NO physical gold that is traded.

If you look at the trade volume and actual physical presence of the gold on Earth then they don't tally.

Financialisation of Everything.

Silver might pop up...but looks like AsamSmith's HiddenHand is propping up the gold for His own reasons....

Without physical gold in hand... all is paper trade!

Physical Silver has disappeared from the market. Can't buy it! Physical Gold is available though.
