And before India and Europe.

I don't want to say "oh shame, in several decades of space history we still haven't done it in Europe", but still, it hurts

God-fearing Persian hero lead the Islamic World in scientific achievements for a reason!

I am ready to be the first Iranian in space: Ahmadinejad

TEHRAN, Feb. 4, 2013 (MNA) – Iran's president said on the sidelines of a visit to the exhibition of space achievements and said; “sending living things to space is the result of Iranian efforts and dedication of thousands of Iranian professional scientists.”

Ahmadinejad remembered martyr Tehrani Moghadam and said; “I am ready to be the first human to be sent to space by Iranian scientists,” and continued that devil enemy are worried about the progress of the Iranian nation in all scientific fields and it leave no more room for their predatory tactics to loot Iranian resources.

Ahmadinejad asserted that “ launching Zohreh satellite, to be deployed in 36,000Km orbit, and Simorgh (Phoenix) , to be deployed in 700Km orbit, takes time, since tests should be carried out; Iranian young scientists strictly follow their job.”

He called Iranian experts for a consideration of sabotage by the enemies, and that “we should admit that some [powers] do not tolerate Iranian greatness and growth. Iranians has incited devils’ hatred by Iranian idealism, perfectionism, and being human.”

The 4 milestones leading to the orbital manned flight

The Iranian suborbital flight is not an extravagant project on the contrary, but a small step in preparation for the long term manned space endeavour.

The manned sub-orbital launch of the Iranian E1 capsule by the Safir-1D test vehicle will be the 3rd among 4 major milestones necessary before the final orbital manned flight could be attempted by 2024.

Each are incrementally more complex in preparation for the orbital flight.

• Air Drop Tests: to validate the overall aerodynamics of the capsule in free fall, test the parachutes opening sequence made of 2 drogue chutes then the main parachute, plus the back-up set of parachutes; test the g-load and resistance of the all structures upon impact with the ground, especially the impact attenuation seat and its passenger

• Pad Abort Test: launch abort escape system from the ground level, its separation from the capsule, opening sequence of the parachutes

• Suborbital Test Vehicle: to test a spacecraft separation from the carrier rocket, the life support system providing oxygen and controlling the humidity, CO2 level, pressure and temperature inside the capsule, an the ablative heat shield, coordination of the Search And Rescue Team

• First unmanned orbital flight: with an added orbital injection by the Sarir-1C launch vehicle of the spacecraft (F1: Fazanavard-1), and its controlled de-orbiting, tracking telemetry and control over an entire earth orbit, Search And Rescue Team over land with choppers and vessels covering the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean

Expect the public disclosure probably during the Bahman 22 celebration week (11th February 2021), of pictures and videos related to the Step 1 (Air Drop Tests) and 2 (Pad Abort Test) already completed in secrecy last year.

Remember, the first suborbital test launch of the Qased space launcher was conducted in secrecy on 19th April 2019, one year before the official 22th April 2020 launch that placed the Nour-1 satellite into LEO.

Iran Aerospace Research Institute chief Omi: Plan to send an astronaut into space has been delayed for 6 years “since the project was halted for years. The project was restarted last year.”
The launch was planned for 2025, been rescheduled for 2031.

Iran Aerospace Research Institute chief: “In past 7 months, ARI built space capsule Kavoshgar-9. It will be tested in Fajr Decade [ends on Feb10]… It is similar to capsule US used in 1959 in sub-orbital crewed spaceflight.”
Specs: 500kg, 2m length, internal volume 125*80cm.

It is 75% size of the final manned-rated capsule.

"According to international standards for sending humans into space, at least 5 successful launches must be made.

We will have a dummy in it, and after 5 successful tests, we will prepare the main capsule with a length of 2 meters and a diameter of 1.5 meters for human launch.

Iran Aerospace Research Institute chief: [Government] has invested 20 billion IRR ($82k) in Kavoshgar-9, only covering a part of 66 billion IRR ($272k) spent on the project.
The internal volume of the capsules will be increased to 2*1.5 m after tests for the crewed flight.

2. Kavoshgar-9 in preparation for Iran's ultimate goal: a first orbital manned mission.

Meanwhile harsh landing back on earth for ISRO, with a reality check in the new era of all-pandemics subtropical climate earth.

Major upset as the original plan was not even realistic to begin with.

Indian astronaut will not be sent to space when the country celebrates its 75th year of Independence in 2022!

Beware Team Bharat, team North Korea-Iran, Turkey, and now even Myanmar will all claim this most coveted 4th place as a manned spacefaring power!

Remember the The Tortoise and the Hare fable?

Gaganyaan manned mission not before 2023: Minister

Surendra Singh / TNN / Feb 17, 2021, 02:07 IST

NEW DELHI: The Gaganyaan manned mission, hit by the pandemic-triggered restrictions, has been further delayed and India’s maiden human spaceflight launch is not likely before 2023. “First unmanned mission is planned in December 2021.

Second unmanned flight is planned in 2022-23, followed by human spaceflight demonstration,” Union minister of state for space Jitendra Singh told the Lok Sabha in a written reply recently. Isro chairman K Sivan told TOI that a “human-rated GSLV MkIII rocket with a modified top portion involving provision for a crew module and a crew escape system is being readied for the first unmanned mission in December and a humanoid to be sent on it will be ready by October”.

If ISRO can't keep its target goal of 2022 for a manned spaceflight due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, then it will only be able to launch fireworks for the next 2 decades!

Because during the past year, COVID-19 was only a mild massage compared to the incoming tsunami of B117 et al strains forecasted for March 2021!

5 FEb 2021

TWO DIFFERENT COVID19 PANDEMICS—Many think with cases dropping that pandemic is nearly over. But truth is, there are now 2 different #SARSCoV2 pandemics diverging—old strain is waning, while the more contagious #B117 strain is dominating. We will be soon slammed very hard.

3. Here is what is going to happen... currently R is ~0.9 in many places, but with the more infectious #B117, the R will jump 50% approximately. And it is inevitable (all CDC and Danish models say this) that B117 will take over as the reigning dominant variant soon... · Feb 5, 2021

Iran Space Agency: manned space program, astronaut, Kavoshgar_9 project and Sub-Orbital test launch in June this year

Iran should be brave and go for it. This is Iran's chance to take the well-deserved lead on india when it comes to human flight and space program

Although, I dont know why Iran hasn't successfully tested a GEO SLV yet.

India sometimes after 2024, as for Iran no earlier than 2024!🎲🔮🥠

First biocapsule that will be manned by a robot will be transferred in May/June this year for launch preparations.

Plan is to have five successful unmanned tests until 2025/2026 to qualify it for human spaceflight.

Kavoshgar-9 should be 1.25 meter in diameter, or 3/4 scale model.

Kavoshgar-10 should be full size, with 2 meters in diameter.

This means with 5 successful unmanned tests, from Kavoshgar-10 to Kavoshgar-14 the manned mission will start with Kavoshgar-15 at the earliest!

The worst spaceflight disasters in human history

A total of 18 astronauts have lost their lives during a space mission, in four separate incidents.

4. 🇷🇺 On 24 April 1967, the Soviet astronaut Vladimir Komarov died after the one-day Soyuz 1 mission that was plagued from start by a series of mishaps with the new spacecraft type, culminating with its parachute not opening properly after atmospheric reentry. Komarov was killed when the capsule hit the ground at high speed.

3. 🇷🇺 On 30 June 1971, the Soviet crew of 3 astronauts aboard Soyuz 11 were killed after undocking from space station Salyut 1 after a three-week stay. A cabin vent valve construction defect caused it to open at service module separation. The recovery team found the crew dead. These three are (as of 2021) the only human fatalities in space above 100 kilometers.

2. 🇺🇸 On 28 January 1986, the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster caused by a launch booster failure, resulting in vehicle disintegration was the most devastating death toll to date for a manned spaceflight with 7 astronauts. This also delayed for nearly 3 years all U.S. manned spaceflights.

1. 🇺🇸🇮🇱 The Space Shuttle Columbia disaster was a fatal disaster in the United States space program that occurred on 1st February 2003, when the Space Shuttle Columbia (OV-102) disintegrated as it reentered the atmosphere, killing all seven crew members. The disaster was the second fatal accident in the Space Shuttle program, after the 1986 breakup of Challenger soon after liftoff.
This catastrophe totally discredited the space shuttle as a viable space transportation system, ending with its final flight on July 2011.
Leaving the U.S. without any manned space launcher for a decade, until the advent of the SpaceX Crew Dragon on 16 November 2020, but with a much decreased cargo capacity, compared to the space shuttle.

But, what was even worse if one consider that military or civilian casualties covered by state secrecy inflict lesser national humiliation and loss of international prestige, was the death of one's first ever astronaut televised live worldwide.
Ilan Ramon, a colonel in the Israeli Air Force was the first Israeli astronaut, and was killed in the re-entry accident with all the six other crew members.
With Ilan Ramon's death, Israel is to this day, the only nation in the world among the 40 countries that have flown in space, to have lost its first ever astronaut during a maiden spaceflight.

A further 13 astronauts have died during training and testing for spaceflight. The most notorious disaster was a fire on the launch pad of the Apollo 1 mission in January 1967, killing all the crew.

Conclusion

Iran, North Korea, Japan, Thailand, Turkey and India can all attempt to launch their first indigenous astronaut without running the risk of beating the spaceflight hall of shame record, that would probably be held by the Israelis forever.

Indeed, no space powers would ever try to launch more than one astronaut at the first space mission.

@waz @LeGenD can we remove all the non-Iran Spaceflight nonsensical spam stuff mixed into @Hamartia Antidote posts. He is ruining a very nice serious sticky thread created 4 monys ago that we have put a lot of effort keeping nice. Apparently he is an angry American who just has to be childish in posting crap outside the US threads.

What does US space shuttles, missile attack on Iran video, and Gulf war videos have to do with the Iranian first astronaut???
