Iranian teacher shaves head to empathize with student

A 45 year old Iranian teacher shaved his hair off to empathize with his student who is suffering from cancer.
Mohammad Ali Mohammadian is the teacher of a primary school located in the remotest area of Marivan in Kurdestan province,.

He treads a long route every day to reach the rural school, where he has taught for the past seven years.
Mohammadian, who loves his job, receives the minimum wage paid to teachers.

Mahan Rahimi, his second grade student, had lost his hair because of cancer. He was very sad and distanced himself from other classmates.

Mohammadian said he decided to shave his hairs off to empathize with Mahan and make him happy.
“Mahan told me that you did this for me and taught me a big lesson,” he said.

Mohammadian noted that at present, the students have a friendly behavior with Mahan, adding that all of them are keen to help each other in lessons.

Mahan’s parents are also very happy and appreciated the sympathetic teacher’s gesture
