Our access denial area is increasing year by year. Once that area is large enough, the ability of our enemies to try and perform any meaningful sorties against Iran will be reduced to nill. This is not to say our enemies are foolish enough to deliberately start a conflict, but we're talking hypothetically.

also consider the fact that in coming years we will have seaborne air defenses too. it's getting hard and hard to imagine enemy air power will have any meaningful effect on us in case of war.

Just imagine surface to air missiles placed on rapidly moving platforms such as Iran's military speed boats. This is a nightmare scenario for any airforce.

Its several years that IRGC and its engineering wing are working to provide requirement for this issue, I remember Sardar Mohammad interview about artificial islands.

When you have enough power and dare. YES
I think there is not any clear international law about that.
China already did it.

That is very dangerous thinking. So you are saying you don't need an air force then because the U.S. Navy have seaborne air defenses.

No, I think what he's saying is that we can never match the USAF in the next 30 years but we can make the USAF useless in the Persian Gulf by having seaborne air defenses in large numbers that will turn the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman into a real hell for your airborne assets.

What I understood from his post is that we should build small fast boats armed with SAMs to counter the air superiority of the USAF. That will solve many of our problems in case of a potential conflict with the US.

Both the uae and china have done it,tho for very different reasons obviously.
As for the legality theres nothing in the UNCLOS treaty that would forbid iran from constructing artificial islands within its own territorial waters and exclusive economic zones,and once you`re out on the high seas theres nothing in the treaty that prevents it either.
