You don't understand. Iran has money but it doesn't spend it on it's people but rather on financing and arming terror groups. I don't have the exact numbers, but unemployment and poverty in Iran are above 30%. There are videos on YT showing Iranian lining up in long lines to get subsidized bread. You can say that Iranians are fine as much as like but in reality you're not fooling but yourselves.

Irans leadership wastes Iranian money instead Of giving it to the poor, but nones starving in Iran, plus the unemployment is at 10%, not 30%. Anyways, once sanctions are removed, the economy is supposed to grow by 20-30%, after that I dont think anyone will be poor anymore.

When you are comparing a country with a country, GDP (nominal) is a better indicator as international trade is conducted in Hard Currency.

When you are comparing how well an Individual fare wrt to another Individual from different country converning living standard, GDP per capita (PPP) is used as an indicator.



This is the reason that most GDP comparisons are in Nominal term while nearly all GDP per capita comparison are in PPP term, in all international forums.
