Iran Says Ready to Supply Pakistan’s Energy Needs

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – President of Iran said the country is prepared to supply Pakistan’s needs for energy and to construct power plants across the border areas to export electricity to its neighbor.

“We are ready to supply energy to Pakistan, and also welcome the Pakistani investors in this sphere,” President Hassan Rouhani said in a meeting with Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday evening.

The president also said Iran is prepared to construct power plants in the areas bordering Pakistan by joint investment from the other countries and export electricity to Pakistan.

He further described border security as a requisite for the enhancement of bilateral relations, saying the Islamabad government is expected to detect and disband the terrorist groups that carry out attacks on the Iranian borders from inside Pakistan.

For his part, Abbasi said Pakistan is trying to settle Iran’s concerns about the borders and has deployed Army troops to the frontiers to ensure security.

He also called for the expansion of economic, security and regional cooperation between the two neighbors.

In recent years, there have been sporadic incidents on Iran-Pakistan border with terrorist elements operating inside Pakistan launching cross-border attacks. However, the two countries have been working to enhance security in the region.

In a latest such incident, a cross-border terrorist attack from inside Pakistan took place on April 26, in which ten Iranian servicemen were killed on duty in Mirjaveh, the province of Sistan and Balouchestan.

Is Pakistan willing to buy from Iran?

Economic plans, economic development and economic cooperations between Iran and Pakistan is like a healing remedy for the residents of that region.
Economic and civil progress would reduce social crimes, extremism and more importantly cuts off external interference in Balochistan region.

Poverty in that region is causing a lot of problems for Iran, about Pakistan i don't know much.

In fact without ensuring the safety of that region, it's impossible to attract investors of private and public sectors for operating economic plans. Iran is willing to strengthen that region economically and financially and it is important that Pakistani side agrees to cooperate and help the security of that region.

@tps77 If i be honest to you my friend, you as a person who knows about our country, we have evidence and confessions of captured terrorists around Mirjaveh city in which terrorists admitted about their relationship/connection to the intelligence services of Saudi Arabia and the UAE. These countries under USA's lead are keeping that boundary hot for both of us. Separatists would annoy Pakistan and i have no doubt about this one, i know alot about that region and i know that how do some separatists feel about Pakistan and ISI. Most of the people that were deceived and abused by Saudi/Israeli intelligence services also complained about economic situation of that region saying that if we had better options we wouldn't betray our motherland.

If Pakistan refuses to help the economy and security of that region, both sides will lose. Please learn from Kurdish region of Turkey, Turkey once lived in denial and now they are facing different kinds of threats.

Seems like very simple cheap solution at least to get electricity to 1 province (Baluchistan)
it will also take the load of rest of national grid

KPK (Power plant / Hydral power)
Sindh (Coal / Nuclear plants)
Punjab ( DAMs / Hydral power)
Baluchistan (Iran Electric Grid / Future Nuclear plan)

The big question is, WILL THEY PAY ??
They thought Iran will pay the whole pipeline Iran-Pakistan, and Iran will send oil/gas in advance, without payment.
Dellusional idiots
India also thought they can hoax Iran, what happened? Russia got the license!
Everyone wants energy but nobody is willing to pay!
When will China settle the billion of debts they have with Iran?

Economics are the bridge for having a strong and longterm relations. If Paksitan can have economic relations with India and Iran can have that with (A)/(P)GCC then why not Iran and Pakistan who have much more In common,Problem with both sides of balochistan is that they both are being used as proxy areas at more or less same intensity,Economic, social developments can ease off pressure as We all have example of CEPEC going through all of our Baluchistan and ordinary People are very Happy with it . Being said that Pakistan and Iran have alot of potential in trade, businesses overall economics.
Now The other part in which u have tagged me, Yes after being in iran for 5 years I have limited knowledge of iran,Yes iran had captured terrorist and We have also captured terrorist from our balochistan Kulbhsahn jadev, uzair baloch are big example of this aside of other ragtags. Iran's CI opertions are really strong If we both collaborate with each other we can turn the tide in our favor.I know alot about the area so I can say that they are being abused by indian/israeli intelligence servises and if we improve there economics which btw is happening as of now due to cpec.
Not only Pakistan but Iran also somehow should help sistan and balochistan socially and morally and we some how should support them economically and morally. But we cant compare this region with kurdish region which altogether is different story because they prefer there race over economics and that is not the case with this region.

In case of Yadhav, Baloch i agree with you. But you should know that despite the heavy propaganda against Iran in some medias, Iran has no military-intelligence cooperation with India. Neither we tried to topple CPEC or Gwadar port. Iran's economic relations with India is true and construction of Chabahar port was an economic plan not a security project. It was never aimed at toppling Gwadar, that's a lie however i am aware of the potential competition between those ports since they are geographically close to each other. Iran wants to connect Balochistan province to Azerbaijan province and finally to EU with railroad. It's a huge project and i think that even if India gets out, Iran will find an other partner or continues it with her own investment. On the other Gwadar is being supported by China and it's way is towards central/eastern and souther Asia. I see no opposition between applications of these ports and i am sure that there is a great chance to connect these ports to each other and make way to whole Asia and EU through these ports. This dreamy competition can turn to a great chance of port cooperation. I am not emphasizing on India's presence, since they sent spies in the clothes of workers and abused our trust. This made Iran to control the Indian workers' identity properly and with more crackdown. Fortunately after those incidents Pakistan hasn't reported further problems since Iran cared about Pak's concerns, i hope you do it too and stop the bloodshed of our border guards.

I see a great will for cooperation from our side, but vise versa from Pak's side. As you mentioned, economic collaboration between our countries can end the poverty, chaos and foreign infiltration in that area.

Humans are alive with hope ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and i hope this cooperation takes place asap.

PS there is no political leverage from any of world powers on Irani side, we can work with your companies at anytime that there is a will but Pk's side should solve it's problems with American leverages. Furthermore even if we suppose that Americans are going to make political/economical pressure on you, never forget you are our brothers, and we can supply you with oil/gas with long term payment to compensate American pressure. Just grow a pair guys :enjoy:

Iran should offer us good deal and that is how things works and we need cheap solutions. Last time we check, Iranian offer was way to high

I think there are some unresolved issues with the clergy -------- our mullahs, minority though, definitely won't like being left out . Hence being hunted down due to their violent antics to get to the power corridors' .

as for the rest of the post , I agree with yuu . Arrange some barter system if weve got fear of sanctions . The resources and time being wasted on getting our energy needs fulfilled is as crazy as Freud's psycho theories for nations like us .

It's like walking down the road to another block to get a bucket of water when we can simply have this thing done by asking our neighbor to lend us a pipeline

Babksheed mann dargeer sarekaar bodam,
In short no offence I will say dont start d@#k measuring contest , I assure u we r gonna destroy our relations personally.
My reply is on its way sorry for being late:P

You are right if they continue to follow Americans and i don't think that we have such situation.
USA is declining

Few times, i supported the cause of Pakistan...In this issue, i still feel, it is unfair to blame Pakistan...Pakistan as a nation might be definitely interested to purchase from Iran but US is a major player in Pakistan due to their relationship and influence of US in Pakistan and its economy....So it is not a easy choice for Pakistan to by pass US to purchase it from Iran...Pakistan is slowly trying to open up herself from the US influence and embrace China...Till the time, Pakistan comes out of US influence, Pak Iran relation will be challenging in economy front..But after couple of years, i think Pakistan will definitely change its course and allign with Iran in a more positive way...

We can end your old cold war by that pipeline. Not to mention India is going under US influence unfortunately under Modi.
US as always is the main problem. Who will buy their equipment if there is a peace between India-Pak?!!! Obvious
