he National Foundation for Computer Games (NFCG) has released its recent game adapted from the story narrated in the Persian epic poet's magnum opus, The Shahnameh.
Produced at the Sourena Game Studio, the computer game Siavash which is inspired by a story of Ferdowsis The Shahnameh with the same title, was released at the second Matrix video games competitions in Tehran.
In an attempt to introduce Persian culture narrated in old texts, the game focuses on how Siavash, one of the commanders in the army of Turan, was killed by Afrasiab, the king of Turan and how his son Kai-Khosrow avenges his fathers death.
Rostam and Sohrab is a Persian epic-inspired animation that has been recently produced by Kianoush Dalvand. The Fantastic Films International has acquired the global distribution right of the 3D animation.
Iran's computer game productions have been warmly received by many European, American and East Asian countries so far.
The games have been presented in several international expos such as the renowned European game industry fair, Gamescom, where they won great acclaim by the visitors and experts.
Mir Mahna, Hidden Treasure, Mountaineer, Black Gold, The Story of the Island, The Heart of Simorgh and Dream Farm are some of the renowned Iranian computer game productions.
The second Matrix video games competitions were held from September 8 to 12, 2012. Over 1000 gamers from around the world attended the event in the Iranian capital of Tehrans permanent International Fairgrounds.
