I was not going to respond in this thread. But Era you are a mod, so here is some info for you.


Gas pipeline project is an international project, so it has to have international rules and guarantees in place.


Considering that Iran is under international sanctions,

Pakistani government cannot work on it legally speaking.

On top the legal hurdles, we have financial issues.

However even if we have all the funds to pay for it, our banks cannot transfer that kind of money in and out of Iran.


These are the realities.


But some on this thread continue spreading constipated conspiracy theories against Nawaz, or Saudi, or the Martian people.


Iran too should realize that it must come out of sanctions first if it wants to establish long term international agreements.

May be Roohani win may result in it.

But I have not much hope.

This is not about Nawaz Sharif's Personal friendships with Saudi Arabia. Nawaz Sharif is Pakistan's Prime Minister. Pakistan is not his personal fiefdom. He has to act in the National interest of Pakistan.

The Problem is how to go against the US dictates.

The US and its European allies control the World Economy and Pakistan does not have the power to mess with these powerful nations on behalf of Iran.

As for the fines, Iran can fine all it wants but how will it collect.

The World Courts are controlled by the West.

Instead of threatening Pakistan , the new Govt. of Iran needs to work out their differences with the West (i.e. the US ) so Pakistan can move forward with the pipeline. Pakistan wants to import the gas, but not at the expense of crippling economic sanctions from the US and EU.

Not just Indians, anyone buying petroleum from Iran by using cash $$$ or Euros is getting it on "discount".

And if the oil is via barter trade, then it is even worse for Iranians.

No it is not.

The Iran-Pipeline Gas Pipeline was inaugurated on Monday March 11, 2013 and 3 months later, the funding to Tadbir Energy has still not yet been released. One excuse after another. Last time, Pakistan was claiming the delay was due to Pakistani elections.

Besides, there was no mention of any funds for this project in Pakistan's 2013-2014 National Budget.
