Iran discovers large gas deposit in Caspian Sea

A large natural gas deposit with reserves of 50 trillion cubic feet or 1.42 trillion cubic meters was discovered in the Iranian part of the Caspian Sea, Iran's Shama TV channel said on Sunday quoting country's Oil Minister Rostam Qassemi.

Qassemi said that reserves of the new deposit at a depth of 700 meters exceeded a total volume of proven gas reserves of 11 trillion cubic feet in the country's part of the Caspian Sea by almost 400 percent.

Iran's gas reserves are the second largest in the world after Russia's and amount to about 16 percent of all world reserves.

You can't bring more than 6-8 of your aircraft carriers close to Iran's borders because it's stupid that you focus all of your power in one region and lose strategic presence in other parts of the world, you can bring your air craft carriers and some of them are already present in the Persian Gulf but how many of them would stay intact from Iran's attacks is beyond your imagination.

The US is carrying out an evil plan to try to take out Iran within 5 years.

First, USA is going for the covert operations, because Iran won't respond to covert operations with open warfare, it will only respond with Iran's own covert operations.

Second, USA will cut off Iran's oil and gas trading partners except for China. EU trades with Iran, for example. USA is trying to get them on side. But it looks like Europe wants to attack Syria first. So USA and EU would be conspiring between themselves how to attack both countries.

Third, USA will militarilary blockade Iran and try to roll back Iran's coastal defenses and establish air superiority over Iran. Air-Sea battle could be about China as much as it is about Iran. Of course, US aircraft carriers, guided missile destroyers, littoral combat ships and amphibious landing pads would be even more dangerous to Iran.

Fourth, Iran will retalitate to a US attack by closing down the Persian Gulf, and then the US will attack with ground troops from Afghanistan and Iraq and bombing attacks on civilian targets like Tehran's industrial base.

The total cost of the war is the losses of US troops and equipment in the attack. Iran is probably 5 times more powerful than Iraq in Persian Gulf 1991 war, but even there the US had 1000 casualties. The US could have 5000+ casualties this time. So far, Iraq war has claimed 5000 US soldier lives since 2003, so it is like another Iraq War, not politically smart for the US president.

Then there will be financial losses. Gulf War 1991 took 210 days, what if an Iran War takes 1000 days or 3 years and for most of that Iran time is shooting up the Persian Gulf and stopping the global oil trade? That would devastate the world economy, and pressure from other nations such as EU may force US to ceasefire if US military looks like it is getting bogged down.

An Iran War would mean tens of thousands of civilian casualties in Israel and Arab country belligerents for sure from rocket attacks, because obviously US bombs won't just be hitting military targets, they will hit industrial civilian ones as well. Right now, it looks like both Israel and the Arab countries are willing to take casualties in the tens of thousands.

But if Iran can upgrade to nuclear warheads, then casualties would be in the millions and then Israel / Arab countries would be too afraid to attack.
