Namma Metro on Tuesday said it would stop using Hindi on its signboards. Metro Managing Director Kharola’s announcement to give up Hindi was verbal, and no written agreement was signed on Tuesday.
*Yawn* You know, just recently a new green line extension was added to Namma metro which connected Matri Square Sampige Raste to Yanchenahalli, all in all around 12-13 new stations. It was June 18th or something like that. All the sign boards are having signs in three languages -- Kannada, Hindi and English. I saw it just yesterday once more that is. Next extension will come by 2019 or so. By that time this entire brouhaha will die down and those will again have three language sign boards . The number of north Indians in Bengaluru is too high.
