The Chinese radar should be able to handle SD-10.

i still dont understand why they went for french laser guided

when we already has h-2 and H-4 in service and in large number too

other than the F-16s, PAF did not have a capable enough fighter for patrolling, as the minimum requirement
in the scenario under discussion was an on-board airborne intercept radar, exceptional agility and sufficient staying power. The F-7s had reasonably good manoeuvrability but lacked an intercept radar as well as endurance, while the Mirage-III/5 were sitting ducks for the air combat mission (even though an odd squadron had been retrofitted with a first-class radar which made it fit for the night interceptor role).

PAF is much more modrinised now then 2009 and 2012 is the target to reduce the gap upto 2:1.8 against IAF.

On topic -Except F 16 ,there are none other which is dependebale in PAF.
JF 17 is short leg aircraft ,good for interceptor and air patrol.

Pakistan recently bought 500 JDAM from USA.

To Counter India, PAF firsr line high class weapons .
To Counter Terrorism, PAF old line amuniations.

Besides that JF-17 have GBU-12 Paveway II, GBU-10 Paveway II not French.

Yes when he RTD it was true but J-10, JF-17 , MLU F-16s plus the new ones and F7-PG has made some difference plus AWAS and new mid range SAM.

A retire Air Commondore only knows till he is in Service. It also happens in Inida. Besides the post is of 2009 and we r in 2011 where we have AWCAS, F-16 Blk52, 40 + JF-17. AWACS , missiles (100's of Air to Air including BVR) (AAir to Ground 100's) etc
