NEW DELHI: Indian Navy's INS Sahyadri, which is currently on operational deployment to North West Pacific region and South China Sea in pursuance of India's 'Act East' policy, entered Incheon, Republic of Korea on Friday. The ship is likely to remain at Incheon till October 27 for an extensive interaction with the ROK Navy.
"The visit of INS Sahyadri is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing inter-operability between navies of the two countries," said a Ministry of Defence press release.
The Indian Navy has extended an invitation to the ROK Navy to participate in the International Fleet Review 2016, scheduled to held in February 2016, off the East Coast of India.
INS Sahyadri is an indigenously built warship of the Shivalik Class. Inducted into the Indian Navy on July 21, 2012, the multi-role stealth frigate, boasts of an array of weaponry in her arsenal. Long range anti-ship missiles, medium and short range surface to air missiles augmented by powerful guns of different calibres provide a formidable shield against all types of surface and air threats. The capability to carry two integral multi-role helicopters significantly enhances the potency of this ship. INS Sahyadri, is presently being commanded by Captain Kunal Singh Rajkumar.
"Historic cultural links between India and the Republic of Korea have laid the foundation of vibrant bilateral relations between the two countries. These include the growing economic engagements and military-to-military interactions," the release said.
The first bilateral Defence Dialogue between the two countries was held in 2003 and the first Foreign Policy and Security Dialogue was held in 2005. Maritime interaction has since grown with port visits by warships to each other's ports. Indian Naval ships last visited Busan in June 2012.
The release mentioned that during the stay in harbour, various activities aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two navies are planned. These include official calls on local naval and civilian dignitaries, reception on board INS Sahyadri, visits to the ship by local the populace, guided tours for Indian Naval personnel and professional interaction between personnel of both the navies.
On departure, the ship is planned to exercise with ROK Navy ships for improving interoperability in communication as well as Search and Rescue procedures.

Now.... this is something new

At one side, we are making friends with the "Dirty" communists and other their "Dushman" is paid a Visit.......

Some thing is cooking !!

What is there to gain from DPRK? No technology, No investment, no diplomatic leverage.

respect of progressives from around the world, learn how to be self-sufficient despite decades-old illegal western sanctions, how to arrange a disciplined society, a entry finally into the eastern/global-south bloc.

Forcing discipline looking down the barrel of an assault rifle is hardly a progressive society.

how do you know that is how dprk society is?? :)

at the half-way mark in this short vid is the dprk ambassador to britain describing the safe environment that the british ambassador to dprk found in dprk ( #FergusonKorea - Q&A with Thae Yong-ho from the DPRK Embassy in London - YouTube ).

i recommend watching the vid in full.
so what else u expect, they cant say anything bad about so called DPRK.if he did, first thing would've happened to him after returning to korea is being killed by firing squad.

did you watch the full vid??

the british ambassador to dprk, as described by mr. thae yong-ho, was witness to dprk society to some extent and there have been other foreigners who have visited dprk too.

as for mr. thae yong-ho himself, one can see that he is a person who talks with common sense and simple words... this my thread ( comparison of england with north korea - ambassador ) has another section from that talk... the dprk ambassador is a suave man and ideologically committed.

please note that the talk in that london book shop was arranged by british progressives, among whom is the wonderful sukant chandan ( the one with the beard ) who was active in anti-nato discussions during the libya invasion of 2011... he appeared regularly on rt channel talks.

So after Vietnam , it's South Korea... INS Sahyadri seems to hanging around Chinese neighborhood. INS Sahyadri is indeed a nice addition to India’s Act East policy in and around South China Sea .

And also how to be a slave to a plum fat dictator.

And also how to be a slave to a plum fat dictator.

1. dprk should further develop its present political system by adopting the "third universal theory" and thus moving closer to true communism... the current leader should step down as the country's leader after ensuring that "authority of the people" is established via direct-democracy... he may remain a moral guide.

2. dprk is a politically advanced society, compared to india which has religion and obsolete traditions mostly guiding... slavery is more attachable to india than to dprk.

Let us keep a distance from both koreas. That Kim jong is a mad dog armed with nuclear bombs, even they posses long rang missiles also.

stupid question. whats the use of collaborating with lunatic commies of an isolated country?

stupid answer... only lunatics associate with genociders and war criminals like obama, cameron, sarkozy and merkel... only lunatics call socialism/communism with bad names... how can you condemn and reject a ideology that calls for all humans to be equal in right and liberty and calls for harmony in society??

what are you comparing dprk with?? india?? ( India is Suicide Capital: World Health Organisation (WHO) ).

and who told you dprk is "isolated country"?? just because western government leaders don't visit pyongyang doesn't mean dprk is isolated... read the right media and you will find foreign delegations of progressives from cuba to bangladesh visiting dprk, this is other than government delegations... here ( stimmekoreas - YouTube ) is the channel of a german young man interested in dprk and who possibly has visited dprk as of 2012 or later... just because bbc and cnn use "isolated north korea" a thousand times doesn't mean it is true.

and just because nato decided to do "hukkah paani bandh" to a independent-minded country like dprk doesn't mean all humans should... nato's "international community" only means those governments which lick the boots of western government leaders.

commies are dumbasses. all the fingers of hand are not equal. commies say that take all the wealth ofthe society and distribute it equally amonst iys members and you will have an society with equity, stupid. money is earned with brains and hardwork. even if we do that after some time the rich get richer again and the poor will become poorer when they spend all the money they get without having worked for that. what commie fools can offer their country is a highly mismanaged economy and a near dictatorship government.
